HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 10,144RESOLUTION NO. 10,144 RESOLUTION OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL 1019 RELATING TO HORSE RACING IN CALIFORNIA WHEREAS Assembly Bill 101% introduced by Assembly- man Bob Moretti of North Hollywood is now before the State Legislature, and; WHEREAS A. B. 1013 would make substantial changes in the Thoroughbred Racing Industry in California and partic- ularly among race tracks in Southern California, and; WHEREAS these changes would have a serious adverse effect on the successful operation of the annual thorough- bred racing meet held at the Del Mar track in San Diego County, and; WHEREAS the annual thoroughbred race meet at Del Mar is an important aspect of the Tourist and Sports Indus- tries in San Diego County, and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of National City fin that the continued successful operation of the Del Mar Track and the annual thoroughbred race meet is of interest to all cities in the County and that the passage of A. B. 1019 is therefore not in the best interest of the Cities of San Diego County, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby declares opposition to the passage of A. B. tOi, and urges the members of the San Diego County Legislative delegation to vigorously oppose its passage, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is direct- ed to forward copies of this resolution to Senator Burgener, Senator Mills, Assemblyman Pete Wilson, Assemblyman Waddle Deddeh, Assemblyman E. Richard Barnes, Assemblyman Tom Horn, Assemblyman John Stull, and Governor Ronald Reagan. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of July, 1970. ATTEST: \ , CITY CLERK
