RESOLUTION REQUESTING GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA TO PROVIDE FUNDS NECESSARY TO CONTINUE SERVICES
OF THE SOUTH BAY GUIDANCE CENTER
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National
City has heretofore endorsed and also gone on record as sup-
porting the South Bay Guidance Center, and
WHEREAS, National City Council Resolution No. 9466
urgently requested that necessary funding be provided under
the provisions ofthe Short Doyle Act in order to continue
the mental health and guidance service provided by this Agency,
and
WHEREAS, it has come to our attention that a criti-
cal period exists from March 1 to June 30, 1968, when there
will be absolutely no funds available until July 1, 1968,
which is the beginning of the Short Doyle fiscal year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of National City, on behalf of themselves and the
citizens of this community, do hereby reiterate their strong
endorsement of the South Bay Guidance Center and urgently
request the Governor of the State of California to provide
funds necessary to continue the vital services of the South
Bay Guidance Center until such time as funds are available
under the Short Doyle Act.
