HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 9569RESOLUTION NO. 9569 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DIRECTORS OF THE SAN DIEGO UNIFIED PORT DISTRICT TO CONSIDER THE PROVISIONS OF LOCAL LAW IN REGARD TO 24TH STREET MARINE TERMINAL WHEREAS, the State law establishing the San Diego Unified Port District provides that city zoning existing at the time of the creation of the District shall remain in full force and effect, and WHEREAS, the ordinances of the City of National City prohibit the conduct of scrap storage, dismantling, and auto wrecking and processing within the corporate limits, and WHEREAS, the Directors of the San Diego Unified Port District have announced their intention to utilize the 24th Street Marine Terminal for the export of scrap metals, and WHEREAS, the proposed use of the 24th Street Mar- ine Terminal would apparently violate city law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of National City that, in a spirit of friendly co- operation, the attention of the Directors of the San Diego Unified Port District is respectfully called to the provisions of State and city law regarding the zoning of tidelands with- in the limits of the City of National City.
