HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 9137RESOI_UTION No . 9137 RESOLUTION URGING ACCESS ROUTES FROM INTERSTATE 5 TO AND FROM THE SOUTH TO PROPOSED CORONADO BAY BRIDGE WHEREAS, the State of California, Division of Bay Toll Crossings, plans to construct a Coronado Bay Bride, and WHEREAS, the plans for proposed bridge do not in- clude access routes from Interstate 5 to and from the south, and WHEREAS, proposed future ramps to and from the south are planned for future construction when the traffic growth warrants their construction, and WHEREAS, over 100,000 people living in the South Bay area will undoubtedly use the bridge, and WHEREAS, a portion of the 8,400 civilian employees and 11,000 military p rsonnel at North Island live in the South Bay area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City does hereby strongly urge that access routes from Interstate 5. to and from the south be in- cluded in the first phase of the construction, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to the State Toll Bridge Authority, the City Council of Chula Vista, Governor Brown, our State Legislators, State Division of Highways and the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of June, 1966.
