HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 9064RESOLUTION NO. 9064 RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO PARTIAL CONSOLIDATION OF NATIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT MAXIMUM TAX RATE ELECTION WITH GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY. WHEREAS, on April 12, 1966, the General Municipal Election will be held in the City of National City, and. WHEREAS, the governing board of the National School District has ordered that a maximum tax rate election be held. on the same day, April 12, 1966, within the boundaries of the National School District, and WHEREAS, the territory of the National School Dis- trict is in part the same as the territory of the City of National City, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 20803, and Sections 1333 to 1338, inclusive, of the Education Code; and. Division 12, Part 2, Chapter 4 (commencing at Section 23300) of the Elections Code, the governing board of the National School District has requested this City Council to give its written approval of consent to the consolidation, within the territory of the National School District which is contained. within the City of National City, of the National School Dis- trict maximum tax rate election with the General Municipal Election of the City of National City to be held. on Tuesday, April 12, 1966, and. WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest that saidelections be consolidated to the extent that the ter- ritories are the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to the provisions of Section 20803, and Sections 1333 to 1338, in- clusive, of the Education Code; and. Division 12, Part 2, Chap- ter 4 (commencing at .Section 23300) of the Elections Code, this Council of the City of National City hereby approves and consents to the consolidation, within the territory of the National School District which is contained within the City of National City, of the National School District maximum tax rate election with the General Municipal Election of the City of National City to be held on Tuesday, April 12, 1966, and IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to Education Code Section 1335 and. Elections Code Section 23305, within the territory affected by the order of consolidation the election precincts, polling places, voting booths and polling hours shall, in every case, be the same andthere shall be only one set of election officers in each of the precincts. The re- turns of said maximum tax rate election within the territory affected. by the order of consolidation shall be certifiedby the City of National City to the County Superintendent of Schools who will canvass the returns of the National School District maximum tax rate election. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the City Clerk of the City of National City is hereby directed to deliver a certified copy of this resolution to (1) the govern- ing boardof the National School District, (2) Superintendent of Schools of the County of San Diego, and (3) Registrar of Voters of the County of San Diego.
