HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 9068RESOLUTION ND. 9068 RESOLUTION REQUESTING LEGISLATION TO INCREASE SALARIES FOR ELECTIVE MAYORS IN GENERAL LAW CITIES WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that in a general law city which provides for an elective Mayor, the job of mayor calls for higher responsibility thus warranting additional compensation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City as follows: That the legislators of the State of California are hereby requested to amend. Government Code Sections 36514 and.36516 and all other applicable sections, and to enact additional legislation as necessary to enable the cities which have an elective mayor pursuant to Government Code Section 34000 to adopt a salary for a mayor which is in excess of that providedfor other councilmen. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to all legislators representing San Diego County, to Governor Brown andall general law cities having the elective office of mayor.
