RESOLUTION URGING CONTINUANCE OF IMPACT
AID TO SCHOOLS
WHEREAS, approximately 35 percent of the school
students in National City are federally connected and any
cut in impact aid would seriously hamper education in the
San Diego area, and
WHEREAS, the loss of impact aid to the National
School District would result in a tax increase of 6.50 per
$100 assessed valuation for National City plus a similar
increase for the Sweetwater High School" District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council hereby urges the continuance of impact aid to schools
to preclude the disabling of area school district which would
be the result of the drastic cuts proposed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of March, 1966.
