RESOLUTION GRANTING ZONE VARIANCE PURSUANT 10 ORDINANCE NO. 962
(NW Corner of Division Street and Euclid. Avenue)
The City Council of the City of National City does
hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
1. That practical difficulties, unnecessary hard-
ship, anda result inconsistent with the general purpose and
intent of Ordinance No. 962 would occur through strict appli-
cation of the provisions of said Ordinance to that certain
real property hereinafter described..
2. That a Petition requesting a variance has been
filed pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of said Ordi-
nance as amended by Ordinance No. 981 and. said. Petition com-
plies with all the requirements of said section.
3. That the National City Planning Commission did
hold a hearing on said. Petition and. did recommend. to the City
Council that a variance be granted.
4. That the granting of a variance with reference
to the property hereinafter described will not defeat, but
rather will carry out the general intent andpurpose of the
National City Zoning Ordinance, will provide for the public
safety and welfare and will administer substantial justice.
5. That a variance from the provisions of said
Ordinance No. 962 be and hereby is granted with reference to
all the certain real property situated in the City of National
City, California, more particularly described. as follows:
All those portions of Lot 64 and fractional Lot 72
in the Ex -mission Lands of San Diego, known as Horton's Purchase,
according to map thereof No. 283, filed in the office of the
County Recorder of said. San Diego County, March 9, 1878, des-
cribed. as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of said. Lot 64;
thence running north along the east line of said. Lot 64, 52
rods; thence west at right angles 40 rods to a point; thence
at right angles south to the northerly line of the National
Rancho, said point being also in the southerly line of frac-
tional Lot 72; thence northeasterly along the said. northerly
line of National Rancho to point of beginning, excepting
therefrom the north 459 feet thereof.
6. That the variance hereby granted is as follows:
Permission to erect and. maintain four signs as follows:
(a) One 60 foot standard A & P rotating sign
in the parking area fronting on Division Street containing
156 square feet in size.
(b) A standard building identification consis-
ting of one A & P eight foot circle sign and. two rectangular
signs approximately 4 feet by 23 feet.
(c) Lighting on these signs to be turned. off
by 10:00 p.m. each night.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of February, 1965.
