HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 8760RESOLUTION NO. 8760 PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION OF LEGISLATIVE BODY UNDER "SPECIAL ASSESSMENT INVESTIGATION, LIMIT- ATION AND MAJORITY PROTEST ACT OF 1931" ("J" Avenue, "K" Avenue, 21st Street and 23rd Street, Assessment District No. 139) The City Council of the City of National City does hereby resolve as follows: That certain improvements are proposed to be done and made within the boundaries of the proposed assessment district hereinafter described in the City of National City, California. In connection therewith said City Council hereby finds and de- termines as follows: (1) The nature of the proposed improvements consists of removing sidewalk, curb, cross gutter, trees and shrubs, roadway excavation, installation of paving, curbs, gutters, side- walks and aprons, reset manhole frames and relocate water services. (2) The location and extent of the proposed improve- ments will involve the construction of the described improvements upon the following described public streets and public ways with- in the boundaries of the proposed assessment district hereinafter described, to -wit: "J" AVENUE, "K" AVENUE, 21ST STREET AND 23RD STREET, ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 139. (3) The boundaries of the district of lands proposed to be specially assessed to pay the costs and expenses of said proposed work and improvement are as shown upon a plat on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of National City, which said plat indicates by a boundary line the territory to be included in the proposed assessment district, and which said plat is designated "PLAT OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 139 FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF "J" AVENUE BETWEEN 18TH STREET AND 24TH STREET, "K" AVENUE BETWEEN 21ST STREET AND 24TH STREET, 21ST STREET BETWEEN HIGHLAND AVENUE AND "L" AVENUE, 23RD STREET BETWEEN "I" AVENUE AND "L" AVENUE AND PORTIONS OF INTERSECTIONS THEREOF". (4) The City has budgeted the sum of $25,000.00 as a contribution toward the cost of said work. The entire remain- ing cost of proposed improvements shall be assessed against the benefited property. (5) The statute under which it is proposed to conduct proceedings for the said work is the Improvement Act of 1911 of the State of California, with Improvement Bonds to be issued as authorized under the provisions of said Act. (6) The proposed work to be done is described upon the plans and specifications which are on file with the City Clerk of the City of National City, and said plans and specifi- cations are hereby referred to for all particulars relative thereto and are open to inspection by anyone interested.
