RESOLUTION ENDORSING SOUTH BAY SHIP CHANNEL
WHEREAS, the development of the San Diego Bay and
its tidelands is important to the economic, industrial and
commercial development of our community, and
WHEREAS, the five bay cities have unified for
such development under the jurisdiction of the Unified Port
District, and
WHEREAS, a South Bay entrance to the San Diego
Bay is essential for further expansion and development, and
WHEREAS, such an entrance will, in time, more than
pay for itself by increased shipping, transportation, trade,
port charges and other developments to the entire area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of National City, California, on May 7, 1963, en-
thusiastically endorsed a proposed fifty-five (55) foot deep
ship channel as a South Bay entrance to the San Diego Bay and
outlet to the ocean, via the Tijuana River Valley.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 1963.
