PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION OF LEGISLATIVE BODY
UNDER "SPECIAL ASSESSMENT INVESTIGATION, LIMITATION
AND MAJORITY PROTEST ACT OF 1931
(GROVE STREET FROM SIXTEENTH STREET TO EIGHTEENTH STREET)
The City Council of the City of National City does hereby
resolve as follows:
Thatcertain improvements are proposed to be done and made
within the boundaries of the proposed assessment district herein-
after described in the City of National City, California. In
connection therewith said City Council hereby finds and determines
as follows:
(1) The nature of the proposed improvements consists of
the grading of portions of streets, the preparation of subgrade
and the paving of portions of streets, the construction of standard
Type "G" Curb, the construction of concrete Cross Gutters, the
resetting of existing Manhole Rims, and the removal of existing
trees and shrubs within the Right -of -Way.
(2) The location and extent of the proposed improvements
will involve the construction of the described improvements upon
the following described public streets and public ways within the
boundaries of the proposed assessment district hereinafter des-
cribed, to wit: GROVE STREET FROM SIXTEENTH STREET TO EIGHTEENTH
STREET.
(3) The boundaries of the district of lands proposed to be
specially assessed to pay the costs and expenses of said proposed
work and improvements are as shown upon a map or plat on file in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of National City, which
said map indicates by a boundary line the territory to be in-
cluded in the proposed assessment district, and which said map or
plat governs for all details as to the extent of the district;
said map or plat is designated "PLAT OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF GROVE STREET FROM SIXTEENTH STREET TO
EIGHTEENTH STREET, AND PORTIONS OF INTERSECTIONS THEREOF, ALL IN
NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA."
(4) The City has budgeted the sum of $382.36 from its
funds for this project, and said sum represents 2.86% of the
estimated cost of said work. The City hereby agrees to pay a
sum equal to said 2.86% of the actual cost of said work, or the
sum of $382.36, whichever is the lesser, as a contribution towards
the cost of said work. The entire remaining cost of said proposed
improvements shall be assessed against the benefited property.
(5) The statute under which it is proposed to conduct pro-
ceedings for the said work is the Improvement Act of 1911 of the
State of California, with Improvement Bonds to be issued as
authorized under the provisions of said act.
(6) The proposed work to be done is described upon the
plans and specifications which are on file with the City Clerk
of the City of National City, and said plans and specifications
are hereby referred to for all particulars relative thereto and
are open to inspection by anyone interested.
