HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 8173RESOLUTION NO. 8173 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL CITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE The C7ty Council of the City of National City does hereby resolve as follows: That certain Agreement, dated the between the CITY OF NATIONAL CITY and NATIONAL CITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, a copy of which is attached hereto and by reference incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Mayor of the City of National City is hereby authorized and directed to execute the same for and on behalf of the City of National City. DATE: 40 / CITY CLERK CONTRACT BETWEEN CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AND NAT 10 4AITV CHAMBER OF COMMERCE THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into as of the day of August, 1952, by and between the City of Natlanal City, California, a municipal corporation, it the County of San Diego, State : f Cal -lie, hereinafter designated as City and National City Chamber gab Com erce, as Rdvertirer, WITNESSETH WHEREA-, Adv:rti ser i which maintains ful € tl ne an association, hereinafter designated of o ices tional City Chamber of Commerce 71 evenue in the City of National City, California and which has special experience and f ac i a i is i es ,nor promotion and advertising work to be done and performed for the City of rational City; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City to ploy said National City Chamber of Commerce as its accent for the purpose of advertising, exploiting, and making known the resourrerg of the City for the purpose of inducing irnnigratiion to and increasing the trade and commerce of said City, and otherwise calling atten- tion to its resources, its enterprises and its adaptability for industrial sites, all pursuant to the Government Code of the State of Caal ifornle and WHEREAS, it has been found by said City that laibibits and floats a 75th Anniversary Celebration, a i'•iaytine Band Review, a Miss National City Contest, a Buy in National City Canpalgn as well as other special events and services will promote the general wel- fare of said City and will publicize and advertise said City and will make known tie enterprises of said City and wi i l increase the t.a°aade and commerce of said City, and that as a resultin years past, Advert i ser has per formed certain services for City for such purposes and has handled certain phases of the work necessary to conduct such activities and programs, and the City Council does further find and does hereby determine that the expenditure of tl�e sum of` 18 itOO.pC For the conducting of such activities and program iv proper 'for the purposes herein bove set forth; NOW . City a report giving details of the steps taken by Advert i ser to carry out the purposeshereinabove set forth in this agreement, an evaluation of the results of such activities and programs and further setting forth bills itemized in detail showing the expenditures made and work done with the sums provided by City to Advertiser pursuant to this agreement; 7. It s distinctly understood and agreed that Advertiser shall not be entitled to receive any compensation for its own services as such in conducting said program, and that the entire sum paid Advertiser by City pursuant to this agreement shall actually be paid out by Advertiser for the sole purpose of con- ducting the activities and programs hereinabove defined.
