HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 7903RESOLUTION N0. 7903 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING A REVISION OF THE FORMULA BY WHICH .STATE HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED WHEREAS, at the present time, approximately sixty per cent of the funds raised by taxation in the State of California for the purpose of state-wide highway and freeway construction are raised from the thirteen counties commonly known as Southern California; and WHEREAS,, said thirteen Southern California Counties do not receive sixty per cent of the revenue produced by said taxation; and WHEREAS, the inequity of raising funds in one part of the State of California for the construction of highways many miles away is readily apparent. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: The City Council of the City of National City hereby urges the Legislature of the State of California to revise the Mayo -Breed Formula now in effect which provides for a distribution of state highway construction funds in the State of California, and to that end, requests that the Legislature adopt Assembly Bill 1320. That the City Clerk be and hereby is authorized and directed to send copies of this resolution to HONORABLE THOMAS M. REES, HONORABLE HUGO FISHER, HONORABLE SHERIDAN N. HEGLAND, HONORABLE FRANK LUCKEL, HONORABLE JAMES R. MILLS, HONORABLE JACK SCHRADE and to WARREN M. DORN, President of the Southern California Regional Association of County Supervisors. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of April, 1961. ATTEST - I CITY CLERK
