A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL
GRANT FOR SEWAGE. TREATMENT WORKS UNDER 33 U.S.C. 466 ET. SEQ.
WHEREAS, the City of National City, herein called the
APPLICANT, is desirous of construction of sewerage treatment works
which is n the public interest; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of the Federal Water Pollution
Control Act (33 U.S.C. 466 et. seq.) the United States has authorized
the grant°ng of monies to assist the construction of such works; and
WHEREAS, the APPLICANT has examined and duly considered such
act and the APPLICANT considers it to be in the public interest and to
its benef1t to file an application under said act and to authorize
other action in connection therewith;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, the
governing body of said APPLICANT, as follows:
1. That City Manager James A. Bird be authorized to file in
behalf of the APPLICANT an application for a Federal Grant
for sewage treatment cost; said application to be in the form
required by the United States and in conformity with said act.
2. That the City Council of the City of National City agrees
that if a Federal Grant for the project is made pursuant to
the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 466 et.
seq.) the APPLICANT will pay the remaining cost of the ap-
proved project and the APPLICANT will provide proper and
efficient operation and maintenance of the approved project
after completion of construction thereof.
3. That the officer designated in the preceding paragraph
is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the
APPLICANT for the purpose of furnishing such information,
data, and documents pertaining to the application for a grant
as may be required, and otherwise act as the authorized re-
presentative of the APPLICANT in connection with this
application.
4. That certified copies of this resolution be included as
part of the application for Federal Grant for Sewage Works
to be submitted per the law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of National
City at a regular meeting held this 14th day of November
1961 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Allen, Morgan, Reid, Hart
NOES: Hollingsworth
