HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 7823RESOLUTION NO. 7823 RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE OLIVEt?JOD HOUSING PROJECT IS NOT NEEDED.FOR THE NATIONAL DEFENSE. INDUSTRIES The City Council of the City of National City finds, determines, resolves and orders as follows: 1. That on the 24th day of September, 1954 the United States of America, acting through the Housing and Home Finance Agency, Public Housing Administration, under and pursuant to the provisions of the Lanham Act as amended and Reorganization Plan No. 3 of 1947 did make and execute a Quit Claim Deed as grantor conveying to the City of National City as grantee all that certain real property which is commonly known as the Olivewood Housing Project. 2. That said deed was recorded in Book 5410 at page 330, et seq. of Official Records of San Diego County Recorder and by reference is made a part hereof. 3. That as a condition precedent to the making of such conveyance, the said Housing and Home Finance Agency did require a representation from the City of National City that it would maintain the housing units located on said real property as long as the same were needed to meet the local housing requirements of the national defense industries. 4. That pursuant to the provisions of Resolution No. 6187 Amended, adopted by the City Council of the City of National City on the 15th day of June, 1954 the City of National City did represent to the Housing and Home Finance Agency that it would comply with said condition precedent. 5. That in order to determine whether the housing units located on the said real property commonly known as the Olivewood Housing Project were any longer needed for the local housing requirements of the national defense industries, the City Council of the City of National City on the 26th day of July, 1960 did pass and adopt its Resolution No. 7780 making a preliminary determination and fixing a hearing date at which time it would hear anyone interested and would receive evidence which would tend to show that the said Olivewood Housing Project was or was not needed to meet the local housing requirements of the national defense industries. 6. That notice of the said hearing was published in the National City Star -News and in the San Diego Union on the Ilth day of August, 1960 and on the 18th day of August, 1960, and that an affidavit of publication of said notice in each of said newspapers is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of National City. 7. That notice of said hearing was mailed by the City Clerk of the City of National City on the 9th day of August, 1960 to the following: Housing & Home Finance Agency, 1721 Rhode Island Avenue NW, Washington, D. C.; Housing & Home Finance Agency, San Francisco Field Office; Public Housing Administration, Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Faye Hartman, Director, Federal Housing Administration; Commandant of the Ilth Naval District; National City Chamber of Commerce; Rohr Aircraft Corp., Chula Vista; Ryan Aeronautical Company, San Diego; Department of the Navy, Washington, D. C.; and General Dynamics Corp., San Diego; and that an affidavit of said mailing is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of National City. 8. That on the 6th day of September, 1960 at the hour of 2:00 o'clock p.m. the City Council of the City of National City did take testimony under oath from all persons who appeared to testify in accordance with the said notice of hearing. 9. That based on the evidence submitted to the City Council, the said council of the City of National City hereby finds and determines that the Olivewood Housing Project is not now needed to meet the local housing requirements of the national defense industries.
