A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
CALL A SPECIAL ANNEXATION ELECTION, AND FIXING A
TIME AND PLACE FOR PROTESTS BY PROPERTY OWNERS
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
National City:
I. That it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of l\ational City to call a special election to be held in
certain inhabited territory contiguous to said City, proposed to
be annexed thereto, for the purpose of submitting to the quali-
fied electors residing in said territory the question whether or
not said territory shall be annexed to the City of National City,
and the property in the territory subjected to taxation after
annexaticn equally with property within the City of National City
to pay the bonded indebtedness of the City of National City out-
standing or authorized, at the date of the first publication of
the notice of election, for the acquisition, construction or
completicn of municipal improvements.
Said territory is described as follows:

All that unincorporated area situated within the County of San Diego, State of
California, described as follows:
1. Beginning at the most Northerly corner of Lincoln Acres Annex No. 3,
according to Map No. 1754, filed in the office of the County Recorder, June
11, 1923; said corner being common to the boundary lines of the City of San
Diego and the City of National City; thence along the boundary of Tract 600
of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 3, the following courses and distances:

to the most Northerly corner of Lot 478 of Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4, accord-
ing to Map No. 1763, filed in the office of the County Recorder of said San
Diego County, August 9, 1923;
14. Thence along the boundary of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4, South 63°00'00"
East, 94.83 feet to an angle point therein;
15. Thence continuing along said boundary South 47°30'00" East, 349.98 feet to
the most Easterly corner of Lot 484 of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4;
16. Thence along the Southeasterly line of said Lot 484, South 21°01'00" West,
216.63 feet to the Southeasterly corner of said Lot;
17. Thence continuing South 21°01'00" West, 50.00 feet, more or less, to a point
in the Northerly line of Lot 498 of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4;
18. Thence Southeasterly along the Northeasterly line of said Lot 498, to the
most Easterly corner of said Lot;
19. Thence along the Northeasterly line of Lots 497, 496 and 495 of said Lincoln
Acres Annex No. 4, South 64°29'00" East, 141.26 feet to the beginning of a
300.00 foot radius curve, concave Southwesterly, in said Northeasterly line
of Lot 495;
20. Thence along the Northeasterly boundary Of Lots 495, 494 and 493, South-
easterly along the arc of said curve, a distance of 70.42 feet to the
beginning of a compound curve, concave Southwesterly, having a radius of
30.51 feet;
21. Thence continuing along the Northeasterly boundary of said Lots, SouJh-
easterly along the arc of said curve a distance of 25.15 feet to the beginning
of a reverse curve, concave Northeasterly, having a radius of 50.00 feet;
22. Thence continuing along Said Northeasterly boundary Southeasterly along the
arc of said curve a distance of 68.97 feet to the Northeasterly corner of
Lot 493 of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4;
23. Thence along the Easterly line of said Lot 493, South 07°10'00" East, 307.16
feet to the Southeasterly corner of said Lot, being also the Northwesterly

of a curve, concave Southwesterly, having a radius of 50.00 feet;
26. Thence along the boundary of Lots 540, 541 and 542 of said Lincoln Acres
Annex No. 4, Easterly and Southeasterly along the arc of said curve a distance
of 134.98 feet, more or less, to the Southwesterly corner of said Lot 542;
27. Thence along the Southwesterly line of said Lot 542, South 52°41'00" East,
237.73 feet to the most Southerly corner of eaid Lot; said most Southerly
corner being also the most Easterly corner of Lot 543 of said Lincoln Acres
Annex No. 4;
28. Thence along the Easterly line of eaid Lot 543, South 17°25'00" West, 47.02
feet to the most Easterly corner of land described in deed to Frank A. Popiel,
et ux, recorded July 19, 1951, in Book 4172, page 306 of Official Records;
29. Thence along the Northeasterly line of said Popiel's land, North 63°15'00"
West, 92.96 feet to the most Northerly corner of said land;
30. Thence along the Westerly line of said Popiel's land, South 00°40'00" West,
91.73 feet to the Southwesterly corner of said land, being also a point in
the Northerly line of Tract 605, of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4;
31. Thence along the boundary of said Tract 605, the following courses and dis-
tances: South 89°49'00" West, 411.95 feet to an angle point therein;
32. South 33°49'00" West, 126.45 feet;
33. South 56°11'00" East, 300.00 feet;
34. South 19°19'00" East, 400.00 feet;
35. South 18°20'00" West, 170.00 feet; to the Northeasterly corner of Tract 607
of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4;
36. Thence along the Northerly line of said Tract 607 South 76°32'00" West,
403.22 feet to the Northeasterly corner of Tract 608 of said Lincoln Acres
Annex Nc. 4;
37. Thence along the Northeasterly line of said Tract 608 North 56°11'00" West,
422 feet to the most Northerly corner of said Tract 608;
38. Thence along the Northwesterly line of said Tract 608 South 74°09'00" East,
to the Northeasterly line of Tract 609 of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4;
39. Thence along the Northeasterly line of said Tract 609 and the Northwesterly
prolongation of said Northeasterly line North 18°59'00" West, 351.12 feet
to the Northwesterly boundary line of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4, being
also the Northerly line of Quarter Section 109 of Rancho de la Nacion, accord-
ing to Map thereof by Morrill No. 166 filed in the office of the County Recorder;
40. Thence Westerly along said Northerly line of said Quarter Section 265.5 feet
to the Northwesterly corner of that parcel of land in said Quarter Section
described in Deed recorded in Book 1574 at page 284 of Official Records;
41. Thence Southeasterly along the Southwesterly line of said parcel of land and
the Southeasterly prolongation of said Southwesterly line to its intersection
with the Southerly line of Sweetwater Road according to Road Survey No. 1323 on
file in the office of the County Surveyor of San Diego County;
42. Thence Northeasterly along said Southerly line to its intersection with the
Southwest line of that parcel of land in Quarter Section 109 described in that
Deed recorded in Book 1776 at page 101 of Official„' Records;y

43. Thence Southeasterly along the Southwesterly line of said parcel of land to the
Southwesterly corner thereof;
44. Thence Northeasterly along the Southeasterly line of said parcel of land to the
Easterly line of the Northwesterly Quarter of said Quarter Section 109;
45. Thence Northwesterly along said Easterly line of said Northwesterly Quarter to
the intersection with the Southerly line of said Road Survey No. 1323;
46. Thence Southeasterly along said Road Survey No. 1323 to an intersection with the
Southerly prolongation of the westerly line of the East Half of the Southeast
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Quarter Section 100 of Rancho de la Nacion,
according to Map thereof by Morrill, No. 166, filed in the office of the County
Recorder of said San Diego County;
47. Thence Northerly along said Southerly prolongation and said Westerly line to
the Northwesterly corner of said East Half of the Southeast Quarter of the South-
east Quarter of said Quarter Section 100, said corner being also the Southeast-
erly corner of land described in deed to Casa Peoples, et ux, recorded April
15, 1935 in Book 401, page 7, of Official Records;
48. Thence along the Southerly line of said People's land, said Southerly line
being also the Southerly boundary of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast
Quarter of said Quarter Section 100, South 71°00'00" West, 618.80 feet to
the Southwesterly corner of said Peoples' land, said corner being also a
corner in the Easterly boundary of land described in Parcel 1 in deed to
Wesley T. Pearce, et. ux, recorded August 20, 1959 in Book 7839, Page 396
of Official Records;
49. Thence Northerly along the Easterly boundary of aaid Parcel 1 of Pearce's
land, North 18°34'00" West, 348.20 feet (Record - North 19°00'00" West,
346.70 feet, more or leas) to an angle point therein;
50. Thence continuing along said Easterly boundary of said Parcel 1 of Pearce's
land, North 51°34'00" West, 12.53 feet to the Southwesterly terminus of the
center line of that 50.00 foot Road Easement as described in Parcel 3 in said
deed to Pearce above referred to, said aaeement being also shown on record
of Survey Map No. 2134, filed in the office of the County Recorder of said
San Disgo County, April 5, 1949;
51. Thence Northeasterly along the center line of said 50.00 foot Road Easement
to the Northeasterly boundary of said Road Survey No. 620;
52. Thence Westerly along the Northeasterly boundary of said Road Survey No. 620
to the intersection with the common boundary lines of the City of San Diego,
to the County of San Diego and the Northeasterly boundary of said Road Survey
No. 620;
53. Thence Southerly along the boundary of the City of San Diego, to the intersection
iidtth the Southerly boundary of said Road Survey No. 620;
54. Thence Westerly along said Southwesterly boundary of Road Survey No. 620, being
along the boundary of the City of San Diego, to the intersection with the Easterly
line of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4, according to Map thereof No. 1763;
55. Thence Northerly along said Easterly boundary 50.00 feet, more or less, to the
Southeasterly corner of Tract 603 of said Lincoln Acres Annex No. 4;

Annex No. 3, North 19°O0'O0" West, 1531.68 feet; North 18°46'00' West, 484.58
feet and North 19°01'00" West, 1331.60 feet to the point of beginning.

2. That said territory hereby is designated and
identified as "Sweetwater Heights."
3. Notice hereby is given that on the 6th day of
December , 1960, at the hour of 2:00 p.m., in the Council
Chamber of the City Hall of the City of National City, any
person owning real property within said territory so proposed
to be annexed and having any objection to the proposed annexa-
tion may appear before said city council and show cause why such
territory should not be annexed. Such protest must be in writing
and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the
property affected by such annexation and the location and area
of such property in general terms. If it be found that protest
is not made by public and private owners equal to one-half of the
value of the territory further proceedings shall be taken in
accordance with the law for the holding of such special election.
4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and cause the same to be published in The Inde-
pendent once a week for the two weeks prior to the hearing.
