RESOLUTION FIXING POLICY REGARDING ATTENDANCE
BY MEMBERS OF NATIONAL CITY ADVISORY COMMISSIONS
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of National
City as follows:
I. The City Council of the City of National City does
hereby determine that the proper functioning of its advisory
commissions demands that the members appointed to serve on said
commissions attend meetings regularly.
2. The City Council further determines that the failure of
a member Df a National City Advisory Commission to attend four
consecutive meetings of the commission to which he is appointed
indicates a lack of interest on his part and places an unfair
burden on the other members of the commission.
3. The City Council further determines that a member who
has missed four consecutive meetings, except for unusual circum-
stances explaining such action, should be relieved of his right
and privi ege to serve as a member of a National City Advisory
Commission.
4, In order that the City Council shall be fully advised
at all tines as to which members of its advisory commission are
failing to perform the duties for which they have been appointed,
it is hereby made the duty of the secretary of each National City
Advisory Commission to notify the City Council in writing when a
member has missed four consecutive meetings of the commission to
which he has been appointed.
5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to mail
copies of this resolution to the secretaries of the Civil Service
Commission, the Park and Recreation Commission, the Planning
Commission and the Traffic Safety Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of December, 1960.
