HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 7507RESOLUTION NO. 75O CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "SWEETWATER ANNEXATION UNIT NO. 1" TO CITY OF NATIONAL CITY WHEREAS, there has heretofore been presented to this City Council a written request that the City Council of the City of National City give its consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection with that certain inhabited territory therein referred to and generally described, which is contiguous to the City of National City; and WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning Commission of the City of National City for investigation, report and recommendation; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and recommendation to the City Council favoring the commencement of annexation proceedings. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY: 1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commence- ment of annexation proceedings in connection with said inhabited territory in accordance with The Annexation Act of 1913. 2. That the said unincorporated territory be and hereby is designated as "Sweetwater Annexation Unit No. 1" and is described as follows: All that unincorporated area situated within the County of San Diego, State of California, described as follows: 1. Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of therf?- Westerly Quarter of 10 Acre Lot 9, Quarter Section #-51 of Rancho de la Nacion, according to Map thereof No. 166 filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, May 11, 1869; 2. Thence Northerly along the Easterly line of said Westerly Quarter and the Easterly Tine of the WesterlYs'- Quarter of 10 Acre Lot 10 in said Quarter Section -t-5t and its Northerly prolongation, a distance of 700 feet, more or less, to the boundary of the City of National City; 3. Thence Westerly along said boundary a distance of 370 feet, more or less, to the Northerly prolongation of the Easterly line of Block 4 of Copeland Subdivision, according to Map thereof No. 978 filed in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, March 19, 1906; 4. Thence Southerly along said Northerly prolongation and said Easterly line a distance of 330 feet, more or less, to the Southeast corner of Lot II, Block 4, Copeland Sub- division, according to Map thereof No. 978 filed in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, March 19, 1906; 5. Thence Westerly along the Southerly line of Block 4, Copeland Subdivision, a distance of 125 feet, more or less, to the centerline of the alley in Block 4, Copeland Subdivision, according to Map thereof No. 978 filed in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, March 19, 1906; 6. Thence Northerly along the said centerline of the alley in Block 4, Copeland Subdivision and the Northerly prolongation of said centerline a distance of 330 feet, more or less, to the boundary of the City of National City; 7. Thence Westerly along said boundary a distance of 165 feet, more or less, to the Northerly prolongation of the centerline of C Avenue according to Map thereof No. 978 filed in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, March 19, 1906; 8. Thence Southerly along the Northerly prolongation and the centerline of C Avenue, and the Southerly prolongation of the centerline a distance of 700 feet, more or less, to the Southerly line of 10 Acre Lot 8, Quarter Section 4-51-; is-a 9. Thence Easterly along said Southerly line and its easterly prolongation and the Southerly line of 10 Acre Lot 9, Quarter Section-441a distance of 660 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. 10. Also, the West one-half of the West one-half of 10 Acre Lot 16, and all that portion of the West one-half of the West one-half of 10 Acre Lots 13, 14 and 15, Quarter Section I51, lying North of the centerline of Sweetwater River, Rancho de la Nacion, according to Map thereof No. 166 filed in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego County. 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. PASSED AND ADOPTED this ATTEST day 9.f May, 1,959. MAYOR CITY CLERK
