HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 7208RESOLUTION NO. 7208 PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION OF LEGISLATIVE BODY UNDER "SPECIAL ASSESSMENT INVESTIGATION, LIMITA- TION AND MAJORITY PROTEST ACT OF 1931" (THIRD STREET AND J AVENUE) The City Council of the City of National City does hereby resolve as follows: That certain improvements are proposed to be done and made within the boundaries of the proposed assessment district hereinafter described in. the City of National City, California. In connection therewith said City Council hereby finds and determines as follows: (1) The nature of the proposed improvements consists of the grading of portions of streets,: ahe:preparation of subgrade for the paving of portions of the streets, the construction of standard type "Q' cur the construction of concrete sidewalks, the construction of cross -gutters, the construction of concrete driveways, the construction of type "A-2" curb inlets, the con- struction of reinforced concrete pipe culverts, the removal of existing side- walks, resetting existing manhole rims to new grades, the removal of existing type "G" curbs, the paving of portions of the streets, the recon- struction of existing inlets to a junction and cleanout, and the relocation of water lines behind water meters. (2) The location and extent of the proposed improvements will involve the construction of the described improvements upon the following -described public streets and public ways within the boundaries of the proposed assess- ment district hereinafter described, to wit: Third Street from the center- line of Laurel Avenue to the centerline of J Avenue and J Avenue from the centerline of Third Street to the centerline of Fourth Street. (3) The boundaries of the district of lands proposed to be e .pecially assessed to pay the costs and expenses of said proposed work and improve- ment are as shown upon a rnap or plat on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of National City, which said map indicates by a boundary line the territory to be included in the proposed assessment district, and which said map or plat governs for all details as to the extent of the district; said map or plat is designated "Map of the Proposed Assessment District for the Improvement of Third Street from the Centerline of J Avenue to the Centerline of Laurel Avenue, and J Avenue from the Centerline of Third Street to the Centerline of Fourth Street." (4) The city has allocated the sum of $5, 204.98 from its funds for this project, and said sum represents 23 per cent of the cost of said work. The entire remaining cost of said proposed improvements shall be assessed against the benefited property. (5) The statute under which it is proposed to conduct proceedings for the said work is the Improvement Act of 1911 of the State of California, with Improvement Bonds to be issued as authorized under the provisions of said act. (6) The proposed work to be done is described upon the plans and specifications which are on file with the City Clerk of the City of National City, and said plans and specifications are hereby referred to for all parti- culars relative thereto and are open to inspection by anyone interested.
