PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION OF LEGISLATIVE BODY
UNDER "SPECIAL ASSESSMENT INVESTIGATION, LIMI-
TATION AND MAJORITY PROTEST ACT OF L931" .

The City Council of the City of National City does
hereby resolve as follows:
That certain improvements are proposed to be done and
made within the boundaries of the proposed assessment district
hereinafter described, within the City of National City,
California. In connection therewith, said City Council hereby
finds and determines as follows;to wit:
1. The nature of the proposed improvements consists
of the grading of portions of streets, the preparation of
subgrades and paving of portions of streets, the construction
of standard 8" Vertical curb, the construction of concrete
cross -gutter, the construction of standard 3 foot gutters,
the removal of 3foot gutters, the removal of existing 8"
vertical curb, the removal of existing sidewalk, the construction
of P.C.C. sidewalk, the resetting of manhole frames to grade and
the construction of alley approaches.
2. The location and extent of the proposed improvements
will involve the construction of the described improvements
upon the following described public streets and public ways
within the boundaries of the proposed assessment district
hereinafter described, to wit:
17th Street between the centerline of National Avenue
and "B" Aixenue.
3. The boundaries of the district of lands proposed
to be especially assessed to pay the costs and expenses of
said proposed work and improvement are as shown upon a map
or plat on file in the office of the City Clerk of the said
City of National City, which said map indicates by a boundary
line the territory to be included in the proposed assessment
district, and which said map or plat governs for all details
as to the extent of the district; said map or plat is
designated "Map of Proposed Assessment District for the
Improvement of 17th Street between the centerline of
National Avenue and the centerline of "B" Avenue."
4. The City shall pay Li percent of the cost of this
project. The entire remaining cost of said proposed improvements
shall be assessed against the benefited property.
5. The statute under which it is proposed to conduct
proceedings for the said work is the "Improvement "Act of
1911" of the State of California, with Improvements Bonds
to be issued as authorized under the provisions of said act.
6. The proposed work to be done is described upon the
plans and specifications which are on file with the City
Clerk of the City of National City, and said plans and
specifications are hereby referred to for all particulars
relative thereto and are open to inspection by anyone
interested.
