HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 6706RESOLUTION NO. 6706 PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION OF F,EGISLATIVE BODY UNDER "SPECIAL ASSESSMENT INVESTIGATION, LIMI- TATION AND MAJORITY PROTEST ACT OF 1931" (EIGHT D,NTH STREET) The City Council of the City of National City does hereby resolve as follows: That certain improvements are proposed to be done and made within the boundaries of the proposed assessment district hereinafter described, within the City of National City, California. In connection therewith, said City Council hereby finds and determines as follows: 1. The nature of the proposed improvement consists of grading and paving streets and installing curbs, sidewalks, driveways, culverts, cross gutters, drainage ditches, headwalls, sewer mains and manholes upon the streets or public ways here- inafter described within the said City of National City. 2. The location and extent of the proposed improvements will involve the construction of the described improvements upon the following described public streets and public ways in the boundaries of the proposed assessment district herein- after described, to wit: 18th Street between Palm and Rachael 3. The boundaries of the district of lands proposed to be especially assessed to pay the costs and expenses of said pro- posed work and improvement are as shown upon a map or plat on file in the office of the City Clerk of the said City of Nation& City, which said map indicates by a boundary line the territory to be included in the proposed assessment district, and which said map or plat governs for all details as to the extent of the d istrict; said map or plat is designated "Plan showing exterior boundary line of district be assessed to pay cost of all that street improvement for which estimate has been furnished in accordance with Resolution No. 6545 passed and adopted by the City Council on January 10th, 1956." - 1 - 4. The City has allocated the sum of Seventy-five Thousand dollars from Gas tax funds for this project. This amount is to be distributed evenly over those portions of the proposed project upon which gas tax funds may legally be expended. In addition the City has allocated the additional sum of $9,260.00 to be applied towards the cost of certain portid:s of said improvements. The entire remaining cost of said proposed improvements shall be assessed against the benefited property. 5. The statute under which it is proposed to conduct proceedings for the improvement proceedings is the "Improvement Act of 1911" of the State of California, with Improvements Bonds to be issued as authorized under the provisions of said act. 6. The proposed work to be done is described upon the plans and specifications which are on file with the City Clerk of the City of National City, and said plans and specifications are hereby referred to for all particulars relative thereto and are open to inspection by anyone interested.
