HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 6386RESOLUTION NO. 6386 RESOLUTION ADOPTING SCALE OF PREVAILING WAGE RATES WHEREAS, the Council of The City of National City, 9 California, did upon the day of 1955, adopt plans and specifications and furthor sees to es" - }�fri' 464 adopt a resolution of intention under the Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments thereto, for the grading, paving, resurfacing of existing pavement and otherwise improving of HARBISON AVENUE, in said City, between the centerline of Fourth Street and the centerline of Division Street; and WHEREAS, the Council of The City of National City, pursuant to the authority vested in them by the provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments thereto, will invite sealed proposals or bids for doing all the work hereinbefore described, within said above described limits; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of The City of National City, as follows: that in connection with said proposed work under the provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments thereto, this Council does ascertain and declares that the prevailing rate of per diem wages paid by private employers in The City of National City for the same quality of service for eight (8) hours for each craft, laborer, type of workman or mechanic needed to execute said work is the rate of p r diem wages ascertained and declared b nesolution No. 37 adopted on the $ day of 4?y'x c , 1955, as follows: "Schedule of Per Diem Wage Rates" Classifications: Per 8-hour day LABORERS: General or Construction $16.60 Operators and tenders of pneumatic and electric tools, vibrating machine and similar mechanical -tools not separately classified herein 18.28 Asphalt Raker and Ironer 18.28 Fine Grader (Highway and Street Paving only) 17.40 Sewer Pipe Layer (excluding caulker) 19.08 OPERATING ENGINEERS: Apprentice Engineer, including fireman, oiler, greaser (excluding truck crane oiler) Ccncrete or Asphalt Spreading, tamping or finishing Machine Operator Ccncrete Mixer Operator - mobile mixer Ccncrete Mixer Operator - paving type Motor Patrol Operator, including any type of power blade Pavement Breaker Operator Roller Operator Skip Loader Operator - wheel type Tow Blade or Grader Operator Tractor Operator - Bulldozer, Tamper Scraper or Drag Type Shovel or similar type 18.00 21.44 22.56 23.28 22.56 20.80 20.80 20.16 24.16 21.44 Tractor Operator - Boom Attachments Trenching Machine Operator Universal Equipment Operator (Shovel, Dragline, Derrick, Derrick -Barge, Clamshell, Crane or Pile Driver) $22.08 22.08 23.28 TRUCK DRIVER: Drivers of trucks legal payload capacity less than 6 tons 17.44 Drivers of trucks legal payload capacity between 6 and 10 tons 17.68 Drivers of trucks legal payload capacity between 10 and 15 tons 18.08 OTHER TRADES: Carpenter 22.00 Cement Mason 21.60 Electrician, Journeyman 24.80 Reinforcing Iron worker 22.40 Any classification omitted herein not less than 16.60 OVERTIME Not less than one and one-half times the said prevail- ing or current rate of per diem wages shall be paid for ex- tra work performed by such laborers, workmen, or mechanics on Sundays and legal holidays as set forth and designated by the Council of said City of National City by Ordinance No. 835, and for work performed in excess of eight (8) hours in any one calender day, in such cases in which such over- time work is permitted by law. AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said "Schedule of Per Diem Wage Rates" be embodied in the Notice Inviting Sealed Bids and all contract documents in connection with said work and improvement hereinabove described.
