BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL
CITY AS FOLLOWS:
The City Council hereby finds that the proposal of
/141,-w7lee
to enter into a contract with City of National City on a
basis appears to be the bid most advantageous to said City and the
inhabitants thereof,and to be the best bid received on May 3,1955,
pursuant to the notice published inviting bids for said purpose.
The City Council hereby approves and accepts said
bid, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and execute a
contract for and in behalf of City of National City in accordance
therewith.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION PERTAINING
TO THE ANNEXATION OF "MILLERS ANNEXA-
TION" TO THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY
NOTICE 1S HEREBY GIVEN that pursua.nt to Ordina.nce
of the City of National City a.nd to the
Annexation Act of .19.13, a special election has been called, to be
held on the 26th day of July, 1955, in the territory hereinafter
described for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors
residing in the territory the question whether or not the territory
shall be annexed to the City of National City, a.nd whether or not the
property in the territory shall, after such annexation, be subject to
taxation equally with the property within the City of National City,
to pay the entire bonded indebtnedness of the City of National City,
outstanding or authorized at the date of the filing of the petition
for annexation for the a.cquisition, construction or completion of
municipal improvements.
The territory is described as follows:
All those portions of Lots 69 and 70 of Ex -Mission
Lands of San Diego, (commonly known as Horton's Purchase),
according to Map 283 on file in the County Recorder's Office of
San Diego County, California, described as follows:
Commencing at the northwesterly corner of said Lot 70;
Thence southerly along the westerly line of said Lot 70
a distance of 4.15. 80 feet to the southwesterly corner of that
certain annexation to the City of San Diego, known as °Burrlingame
Tract", a.ccording to Ordinance No. 3324 New Series of the City
of San Diego, said southwesterly corner being the true point of
beginning;
Thence N 89° 58' E a distance of 637.16 feet along the
southerly line of said "Burlingame Tract', being also the boundary
line of the City of San Diego, to the southeasterly corner of said
"Burlingame Tract";
Thence N 0° 00' 30" E a distance of .198 feet along the
easterly line of said "Burlingame Tract", being also the boundary
line of the City of San Diego, to the northeasterly corner of said
''Burlingame Tract";
Thence N 89° 56' E a distance of 691.50 feet more or
less along the southerly boundary of the City of San Diego to a.n
intersection with the easterly line of said Lot 70, being also the
westerly line of the subdivision known as "Millerton" a.ccording to
Ma.p No. 1608 on file in the County Recorder's Office of San Dieg
County, California., and being also the boundary line of the City
of National City.
Thence S 0° 2.1' W a. distance of 652. 80 feet, more or
less, along the easterly line of said Lot 70, being also the westerly
line of said "Millerton' , and being the boundary line of the said
City of National City, to the southeasterly corner of said Lot 70
being also the southweate.rly corner of said ''Millerton";
Thence S 7.1 28' W along the southerly line of said Lot
70, being also the boundary line of National City a dista.nce of 648.95
feet to the southwesterly -corner of the subdivision known as
"Sunny Knoll" according to Ma.p No. 243.1 on file in the County
Recorder's Office of San Diego County, California, said southwesterly
corner being also the southeasterly corner of that certain annexation
to the City of National City known a.s "Findahl" a.ccording to Ordinance
No. 853 of the City of National City;
Thence N 0° 0.1' W a. distance of 309. 88 feet along the
easterly line of said' 'indahl" to the northeasterly corner thereof;
Thence West a distance of 150 feet along the northerly
line of said "Findahl" to the northwesterly corner thereof;
Thence S 0° 01' E a distance of 360..16 feet along the
westerly line of said "Findahl" to an intersection with the southerly
line of said Lot 70, being also the boundary line of the City of
National City;
Thence S 7.10 20' W along the southerly line of said
Lot 70 a distance of 594. 97 feet to the southwesterly corner thereof;
being also the southeasterly corner of Lot 69 of said Ex -Mission Lands;
Thence S 7.10 00' W along the southerly line of said Lot
69 as shown on map of the subdivision known as 'Scheuerman Heights"
No. 2227 on file in the County Recorder's Office of San Diego County,
California, being also the boundary line of the City of National
City, a distance of 3.19.03 feet;
Thence N 18° 30' W a distance of 30 feet to the southwesterly
corner of Lot .1 of said "Scheuerma.n Heights";
Thence continuing N .18° 301. W along the westerly line of
said Lot .1, being also the westerly line of said "Scheuerma.n Heights"
a distance of 428. 03 feet to the northwesterly corner of said
"Scheuerman Heights";
Thence N 89° 3.1' E along the northerly line of said
"Scheue.r•man Heights" a distance of 444.3.1 feet to the northeasterly
corner thereof; being also a point on the westerly line of said Lot 70;
Thence northerly along said westerly line a distance of
565.95 feet more or less to the point of beginning.
This territory is designated and identified as "Millers
Annexation" .
For the purpose of the special election one voting precinct
has been established in the territory. The polling place for the
precinct will be at
Street, Sa.n Diego
County, California.. The polling place will be opened at 7:00
o'clock a.m. and closed at 7:00 o'clock p.m. on the 26th day of
July, .1955.
Upon the ballots to be used in said special election there
shall be printed the words:
SHALL "MILLERS ANNEXATION" BE ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, AND THE PROPERTY
IN SUCH TERRITORY BE, AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION,
SUBJECT TO TAXATION EQUALLY WITH THE PROPERTY
WITHIN THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, TO PAY THE
ENTIRE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF
NATIONAL CITY OUTSTANDING OR AUTHORIZED AT
THE DATE OF THE FILING OF THE PETITION TOR
ANNEXATION, FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION
OR COMPLETION OF MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS?
Opposite these words there shall be printed the words
"Yes" and "No, " and to the right of each of these last two words
there shall be a. voting square. If an elector sha.11 stamp a cross
(- --) in the voting square after the printed word "Yes" the vote
of such elector shall be counted in favor of the annexation of sa.id
territory to the City of National City; and if an elector shall stamp a.
cross (--f-) in the voting square after the printed word "No" the vote
of such elector shall be counted against such annexation.
In all particulars not herein recited sa.id election shall
be held in conformity, as near as may be, with the laws of the
State of California. concerning general elections and with said
Annexation Act of 19.13.
Improvements Financed by Outstanding
Bonded Indebtedness
The improvements for which bonded indebtedness of the
City of National City has been incurred, outstanding at the date of
the first publication of this notice, and the a.mounts thereof, and the
maximum rates of interest payable thereon are as follows:
