The City Council of the City of National City does hereby
resolve as follows:
That the certain agreement by and between the City of
National

CITY FLOAT
This Agreement, made and entered into on theme day of
September, 1955, by and between the CITY OF NATIONAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, a Municipal corporation, in the County of San Diego,
State of California, hereinafter designated as 'CITY', and
NATIONAL CITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, an association, hereinafter
designated as 'CHAMBER",
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, City desires to employ Chamber as its agent for the
purpose of advertising, exploiting and making known the resourcee
of the City for the purpose of inducing immigration to and
increasing the trade and commerce of said City, all pursuant to
the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, it has been found that the entering of a Wilma
City float in parades conducted by various communities in San
Diego County -will promote the general welfare of National City
and will publicise, advertise and make known the enterprises of
National City and will increase the trade and commerce of said
City, and that as a result the City Council has found and deter-
mined that the expenditure of the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars
($900.00) for the building of such a float is proper fax the
purposes hereinabove set forth,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Chamber agrees to use its facilities and its special
knowledge and experience to build a permanemt motorised float hod
for the purpose of taking a National City float available hr.
display and entry in various parades conducted in San Diego Caesar
2. In consideration of this Agreements City agrees to pay
Chamber the sue of Nine Hundred Dollar. (4900.00) te be paid
oencurremtly with the execution of this Agg*got.

It is distinctly understood and agreed that such sun of Nine
Hundred Dollars (3900.00) is the total obligation incurred by
City with reference to the building of such permanent motorised
float bed.
3. It is understood and agreed that said sum of Nine Hundred
Dollars (3900.00) shall be used for no purpose other than the
necessary, actual and direct expenses incurred in the build:tog of
such permanent motorized float bed.
4. As hereby mutually agreed, no part of said sua shall be
used to pay any part of the salary of the officers of the National
City Chamber of Commerce.
5. It is understood and agreed that the entire said sma paid
to Chamber by City, pursuant to this Agreement, shall actually
be paid out by Chamber for the sole purpose of building said
permanent motorized float bed.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this
Agreement to be executed by its duly authorized officers, and to
have its corporate seal affixed, the day and year in this instrm-
sent first written.
