HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 6336RESOLUTION NO. 6336 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 6304, a public hearing was conducted on the 18th day of January, 1955, to hear protests to the proposed sale of the National City Public Library building located at 1215 National Avenue; and WHEREAS, at said time no one appeared to protest said sale; and WHEREAS, it appears and the City Council hereby finds that the public interest and convenience require said. sale; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of National City as follows: The sale of said library building is hereby author- ized and approved; said sale shall be in accordance with the Notice of Proposed Sale of Personal Property hereto attached and marked Exhibit "A" . The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish a copy of said Notice of Sale at least twice in the National City Star News and at least twice in the San Diego Union, and also to post copies of the same in at least three public places in the City of National City. Zf' MAYOR ATTEST: CITY CLERK NOTICE OF PROPOSED SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of National City, California, will on the 1st day of March, 1955, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1345 National Avenue, National City, California, sell to the highest bidder the following personal property belonging to said City of National City and no longer required for city purposes; One one-story masonry wood -joist building commonly referred to as the National City Public Libary at 14115 National Avenue, National City, California. Building to be removed from site and/or razed upon site for salvage purposes on or before June 1, 1955, and said site to be left in good condition, free andclear immediately at removal of the building and/or razing of the building. All combustible materials and other rubbish shall be removed from the premises by the purchaser upon completion of moving and/or razing operations leaving only con- crete foundation below grade and concrete flat work on the premises. In the event any utilities service lines are disconnected, destroyed or otherwise impaired in any way by reason of said operations, the purchaser at his own cost shall cap, replace, or make safe said utility lines to the satisfaction of the City Manager of the City of National City and/or the utility company supplying such service. Bids shall be submitted in writing and filed with the 1 -sL3 City Clerk of the City of National City at the City Hall, National Avenue, National City, California, not later than the above specified. time of opening. The minimum bid which will be accepted shall be Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). Each bidmust be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the order of the City of National City, National City, California, as a guarantee that the bidder will complete the purchase upon acceptance of the bid, and will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses to complete the purchase after being requested to do so by the City Council of the City of National City. If the successful bidder fails to remove the improvement within EXHIBIT "A" the specifiedtime, he shall forfeit all his rights to said property, as well as all moneys paid on the purchase price, and thereupon title to said improvement shall revert to the City of National City to dispose of as it sees fit, without recourse by the purchaser. Oral bids will be received at such public session, provided they are made by responsible persons and are for a price exceeding by at least five percent (5%) the highest of any written proposals received. The City Council reserves the right to reject any andall bids, either written or oral, and withdraw such property from sale; also to waive any informality in the bidding.
