A RESOLUTION GIVING NOTIT(E OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY OF UNINHABITED
TERRITORY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED AS "NATIONAL CITY
BAY CORRIDOR" AND GIVING NOTICE OF A TIME AND
PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS THERETO
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of National
City did on the 5th day of October, 1954, adopt Resulution No.6268
entitled "RESOLUTION DBCLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS
TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABIAD TERRITORY", reference to which is
hereby made for further particulars; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution a request was
filed with the Boundary Commission of the County of San Diego for a
report and approval by said Commission of the boundaries of the
proposed annexation in accordance with the provisions of Section
35002 of the Government Code of the State of California, and
WHEREAS, on the 28th day of October, 1954, the
Boundary Commission of the County of San Diego, approved the bound-
aries of the proposed annexation as hereinafter set forth, and
WHEREAS, the said Council of the City of National
City has been advised that there is a possibility that some of the
lands proposed to be annexed lie within the territorial boundaries
of the City of San Diego and that application for the consent of the
City of San Diego to the annexation thereof to the City of National
City should be made, and

City is further advised and hereby finds as a fact that in the uninhabited

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City
Council of the City of National City as follows:
That pursuant to the terms and provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, as Amended,
Notice is hereby given that the said Council of the
City of National City, being the legislative body of said City does
hereby, on its own motion, initiate proceedings to annex to and
incorporate within the City of National City certain uninhabited territory
in the County of San Diego, State of California, contiguous to the City
of National City; the boundaries of said territory so proposed to be
annexed to and incorporated in said City being more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
All that uninhabited territory consisting of uplands,
tide and submerged lands, including a portion of tide and submerged
lands lying within the corporate boundaries of the City of San Diego
and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of th.e northerly
boundary line of the City of National City and the
southerly boundary line of the City of San Diego with
the Mean High Tide Line of the Bay of San Diego,
said point being the true point or place of beginning;
thence westerly along the said northerly boundary
line of the City of National City to an intersection with
the United States Pierhead Line between Harbor Line
Stations 308 and 312 as said Pierhead Line is now
established for the Bay of San Diego; thence southerly along
the said United States Pierhead Line to an intersection
with the northerly boundary line of the City of Chula Vista
as per Ordinance No. 488 of the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista dated February 10,1954; thence
westerly, at right angles to the said United States Pier -
head Line, along said northerly boundary line of the
City of Chula Vista to an intersection with the easterly
boundary line of the City of Coronado as per Ordinance
No. 832 of the City Council of the City of Coronado
dated February 20,1951; thence southerly along said
easterly loundary line of the City of Coronado to an.
intersection with the southerly boundary line of the City
of Chula Vista as per said Ordinance No. 480 of the City
Council of the City of Chula Vista; thence easterly along
said southerly boundary line of the City of Chula Vista
to an intersection with the Mean High Tide Line of the
Bay of San Diego as per Miscellaneous Map No. 79 on
file at the County of San Diego Recorders Office; thence
southerly and westerly along said Mean High Tide Line
through the following courses; first south 8019` west a
distance of 1, 109.80 feet; thence south 160 16' east
a distance of 200.00 feet; thence south 50 40' west a
distance of 300.00 feet; thence south 160 37' east a
distance of 800.00 feet; thence south 20 33' west a
distance of 600.00 feet; thence north 850 44' west a
distance of 300.00 feet; thence south 800 west a
distance of 770.00 feet; thence south 810 west a
distance of 530.00 feet; thence south 430 west a distance
of 800.00 feet; then leaving said Mean High Tide Line north
670 29' 25" west a distance of 4,426.73 feet, more or less,
to a point on the said easterly boundary line of the City of
Coronado, said point being 300.00 feet southerly from the
said southerly boundary line of the City of Chula Vista;
thence westerly at right angles to said easterly boundary
line of the City of Coronado to an intersection with a line
parallel to and distant 300.00 feet westerly from the said
easterly boundary line of the City of Coronado; thence
northerly and westerly along said 300.00 foot parallel
line to an intersection with the said south boundary line
of the City of San Diego; thence easterly along the said
south boundary line of the City of San Diego to the point
or place of beginning.
Said territory is to be designated as "National City Bay
Corridor."
The reason said City Council desires said annexation
is that such annexation will contribute to the orderly growth of the City
and will provide additional recreational and harbor facilities.
Notice is further given that Tuesday the 19th day of
April, 1955, at the hour of 9:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in
the City Hall of the City of National City, County of San Diego, State of
California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any
person owning real property within the uninhabited territory hereinabove
described, proposed to be annexed to the City of National City and
having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the
Council of the City of National City and show cause why such uninhabited
territory should not be so annexed to the City of National City.
Such protest must be in writing, and may be filed
before the hour set for hearing Olections for the proposed annexation
and shall state name or names of the owner or owners of property
affected and the description and area of such property in general terms.
The City Clerk of the City of National City is hereby
authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be pub-
lished at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the National
City Star News, a newspaper of general circulation published in the
City of National City, the city to which it is proposed to annex the
aforesaid territory, and also in the San Diego Union, a newspaper of
general circulation published outside the city but in the County in which
is located the territory which is proposed to be annexed, said publi-
cation to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for
hearing,and the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each
person to whom land within the territory to be annexed is assessed in
the last equalized County Assessment Roll available on the date the
above said proceedings are initiated, at the addresses shown on said
Assessment Roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed
his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has
an interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice
to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing
on the proposed annexation. Said City Clerk shall also cause written
notice of such proposed annexation to be sent to the Attorney General
of the State of California and to the State Lands Commission, Division
of State Lands, Department of Finance, State of California, and also
the Secretary of the State of California. Notice above referred to shall
be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on
the proposed annexation.
