HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 6306RESOLUTION NO. 6306 WHEREAS, the City of National City has heretofore advertised for, and did receive, bids for supplying said City with a one thousand gallon per minute pumping engine for use of the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, all of the said bids received for said equip- ment have heretofore been rejected by the City Council; and WHEREAS the City Manager was authorized to negotiate for the purchase of said equipment on the open market; and WHEREAS the City Manager has ascertained that said equipment can be leased by said City on option to purchase, and that said arrangement would be advantageous to the. City and for the public interest and convenience; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, as follows: The City Council of the City of National City, California, hereby finds that the work to be performed and the materials to be furnished to the City so that it may have the use of a one thousand gallon per minute pumping engine for the fire department can be secured for a lower price on the open market, than by competitive bid. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the public interest and convenience require that said one thousand gallon per minute pumping engine be secured for the use of National City by a lease and option to purchase agreement with the Bank of America N.T. & S.A., pursuant to Time Plan Loan Form 511 as revised in September, 1903. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Walter F. Hodge, Mayor, is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a lease and option agreement dated December 1, 1954, a copy of which is hereto attached.
