PORATED I'drtilN, CITY OF NATICfl-AL CITY AND THAT TEE PROPERTY THERE- IN SHALL, AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION, BE SUBJECT TO TAXATION EQUALLY WITH TT'; PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF Nfl'ICNAL CITY, TO PAY THE BONDED PME3TEDNESS OF SAID CITY OUTSTANDING AT THE DATE OE SUCH ANN7ATION. WHEREAS, on tho of December, 1953, a petition was filed with the City .Council of CITY OF NATIONAL CITY asking that the inhabited territory know as "SOUTH WEST SA" in the County of San Diego, State of California, described in said petition and hereinafter particularly described, be annexed to, and incorpor- ated within, City of National City in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913 as anended; and WHEREAS, said petition contained the names of not less than one-fourth (1/14) of the qualified electors residing within the territory described in said petition, as shown by the registration of voters of the County of San Diego, in which said territory is situated.; and WHEREAS, before circulatin; said petition, the proponents of said annexation published a notice of intAntion so to do, which notice contained the names of the proponents intending tocirculate such petition and the specific boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed, and said notice vas accompanied by a printed statement, not exceeding five hundred (500) words in length, of the reasons for the proposed annexatien; and WHEREAS, within ten (10) days after publication of said notice the propon- ents filed a copy -of the notice, accompanying statement, and an affidavit of pith- lication thereof, with the City Clerk of City of National City; and WHEREAS, within fifteen (15) days after the filing of said notice, the city council adopted a resolution acknowledging receipt thereof and approved the cir- culation of the said petition; and more than twenty-one (21) days after the pub— lication of said notice and statement, the petition was circulated among the various voters within the area proposed to be annexed; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council of City of National City have consented to the annexation thereof; • HE Nam., THEEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counciloof CITY OF NATIONAL CJAI, California, as follows: That pursuant to the terms and provisions of the Annexation Act of 1913, as amended, it is the intention of the Council of City of National City to call a special election for the purpose of submitting the electors -residing in the terri- tory, hereinafter described, proposed to be annexed to City of National City, the question whether such territory shall be annexed to, and incorporated within, the City of National City and that the property therein shall, after such annexation, be subject to taxation equally with the property within City of National City to pay the bonded indebtedness of said City outstanding at the date of said annexa- tion and that said territory shall become and be part of theelementary school district of said City; anri That the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of National City are more specifically described as follows: All that portion of tahia Vista, Map No. 1815, Records of San Diego County, State of California, more parti- cularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of theSoutherly Boundary line of National City, with the West right of way line of National Avenue as shown on hap thereof No. 1815 of Bahia Vista, on file in the office of the Recorder of San Diego County; thence along said West right of way line S 18° 35' E 230 ft., thence South 71' 25' West 290.0 feet, thence South 6° 30' West 260.0 ft., thence South 85° 01' West 357.67 feet, thence South 73° 14' West 229.0 ft., thence North 67° 08' West 306.88 ft., thence South 58° 09' West 156.31 ft., thence South 88° 18' West 120.23 ft., thence South 53° 35' West 110.16 ft., thence North 87° 30' West 117.10 ft., thence North 89° 18' jest 92.86 ft., thence North 18° 35' West 132.88 ft., to tha Southerly Boundary line of National City, thence along said Southerly Boundary North 71° 25' East 1776.01 ft., more or less, to the point of beginning. That said territory hereinab.ove-described is contiguous to City of National City. That said territory is hereby designated as "SOUTH WEST ?ESA", the name by which such territory shall be hereinafter referred to and indicated upon the bal- lots to be used at an election at which the question of such annexation is to be submitted. That NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 5th day of January, 1954, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, National City, California, at a regular meeting of the Council of said City, any owner of property within the. territory proposed to be annexM fin Having any objections to the proposed annexe- .tion, may appear before said Council and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed. Such hearing shall be held not less than fifteen (15), nor more than forty (!�C), days after the passage of this.resolution. That at any time not later than the hour set for hearing objections to the prcposed election, any owner of property within the territory.proposed to be annex- ed may make written protest against the proposed election. :Such protest shall be in writing and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property affected the , and the location and area of such property in general terms.
