HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 5643a-ao- sz RESOLUTION NO. 5643 WHEREAS, a regular municipal election will be held in the City of National City, California, on the 8th day of April, 1952; and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City desires to learn the wishes of the voters of the City of National City with reference to whether or -not the employees of the City of National City, except those prohibited by law, shall be employed on a basis of forty hours per week, effective July 1 , 1952; and WHEREAS, the City Council has, by motion duly made and carried, directed that the foregoing proposition be sub- mitted to the electors; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of National City, California,. does hereby resolve as follows: That there shall be, and there is hereby ordered, submitted to the qualified electors of said City, at said regular municipal election, the following question, proposition or measure, to -wit: Shall the employees of the City of National City, except those prohibited by law, be employed on a basis of forty hours per week effective July 1, 1952? YES NO Electors voting at said regular election shall indi- cate their choice on the proposition by stamping a cross "X" in the voting square at the right of the word "Yes" or in the voting square at the right of the word "No" opposite the proposition. If the elector shall have stamped a cross "X" in the voting square after the said printed word "Yes" in the proposition, his vote shall be counted in favor of the proposition, and if an elector shall have. stamped a cross "X" in the voting square after the said printed word "Non in the -proposition, his -vote shall be counted against said proposition. That if a majority of the voters voting on said measure at said election vote in favor thereof the City Council has present intention to proceed with such measure and to carry out the"desires of the voters in the manner provided by law.
