RESOLUTION NO. 5644
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA,
CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF NATIONAL
CITY ON THE 8TH DAY OF APRIL, 1952,
FIXING VOTING PRECINCTS AND POLLING
PLACES AND NAMING ELECTION OFFICERS
THEREFOR, AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE
OF SUCH ELECTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
National City, California, as follows:
SECTION 1: That a general municipal election be
held, and the same is hereby 'called and ordered to be held,
in the City of National City on the 8th day of April, 1952,
for the purpose of electing three members of the City Council
of said City, full term, and for the purpose of electing the
City Clerk of said City, full term, and for the purpose of
electing the City Treasurer of said City, full term, and for
the purpose of voting on such measures as the said City Council
has ordered and directed be placed upon the ballot at said
election.
SECTION 2: That for the purpose of holding said
general municipal election there shall be, and are hereby,
established thirty-one (31) voting precincts, designated as
hereinafter stated; that the polling places for the respective
precincts shall be the places hereinafter designated; and that
the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified
electors and residents of said City, are hereby appointed
officers of election for their respective precincts and they
shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner
provided by law. Each voting precinct shall consist of the
regular el,ectionprecjncts established in said City by
the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego for
holding of elections, and said precincts, polling places
and election officers are as set forth on the attached
schedule.
SECTION 3: That the polls for said election shall
be opened at seven o'clock A, M. of the day of said election
and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven
o'clock P. M. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed,
except as provided in Section 5734 of the Elections Code of the
State of California.
SECTION 4: That the election officers shall receive
$7.50 per day each for their services and that the sum of $5.00
shall be paid as rental for each of the polling places.
SECTION 5: That the City Clerk of the City of
National City is hereby directed to procure and have printed
the requisite number of ballots and other printed matter, and
to procure whatever supplies maybe necessary for use at said
election; that the expenditures herein authorized to be made
by said Clerk, and other expenses incidental to said election,
shall be paid from the General Fund of said City of National
City.
SECTION 6: That the City Clerk of the City of
National City is hereby directed to cause to be published, as
provided in Section 668 of the Elections Code of the State of
California, a list of the election officers appointed and
polling places designated for each precinct for two issues in
the NATIONAL CITY NEWS, a newspaper of general circulation
printed and published weekly in the City of National City.
The said City Clerk shall also publish the Notice of Election
required by Section 9750 of the Elections Code of the State
of California in said newspaper in the manner and at the time
required by said Section, and shall publish the list of
nominees and notice of measures requuired by Sections 9754
and 9755 of said Elections Code in said newspaper at the time
and in the manner required by law.
