DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE GENERAL
NUNICI'AL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY
OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, ON THE
8TH DAY OF APRIL, 1952.
WHEREAS, a General municipal Election eras held
and conducted in the City of National City, California, on
the 8th day of April, 1952, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Notice of said Election
was duly and regularly given; that voting precincts were pro-
perly established; that election officers were appointed and
election supplies furnished; and that in all respects said
Election was regularly and duly held and conducted according
to law and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed, and
the returns thereof made and declared in time, ford and manner
as required by the laws governing elections in cities of the
sixth class; and
WHEREAS, the Council of said City of National City
met at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City of
National City, on Tuesday, April 15, 1952, to canvass the re-
turns of said Election, and install the newly elected officers,
as a result of which the Council finds that the number of votes
cast, the napes of the persons voted for, the measures voted
upon, and other matters required by law, to be hereinafter stated:
NOW, TH7REFORE, BE IT R SOLVED by the City Council
of the CITY OF VATIC TAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
That said regular Municipal Election of the City of
National City was held and conducted in the City of National
City, State of California, on Tuesday, the 8th day of April,
1952, in the time, form and manner as required by law.
That there were thirty-one voting precincts estab-
lished for the purpose of holding said election, consisting
of the regular election precincts established in said City
by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego for
the holding of elections.
That the whole number of votes cast
in said City
at said General Municipal Election was 2 ! `fi' votes.
That the names of the persons voted for, the office
for which they were voted, the number of votes given in each
precinct to each of said persona, together with the whole
numbers of votes received in the entire City Election, the
measure voted on and the nun ber of votes given on the measure
hereinafter set forth, are as follows:

That the number of votes cast by absentee voters
at said election have been canvassed and counted and are
included in the return as hereinabove stated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that JORN P. McCLURE and
ED E. INGALLS have received the highest number of votes
cast at said General Election in the City of National City
for the Office of City Councilman of said City, each for the
full term -of four (4) years; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that IRENE ALSTON received
the highest number of votes cast at said General Election in
the City of National City for the Office of City Clerk of said
City, for the full term of four (4) years; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that IDA P • E HOLGATE received
the highest number of votes cast at said General Election in
the City of National City for the Office of City Treasurer of
said City, for the full term of four (4) years; and
BE FURSH R RESOLVED that the measure:
"Shall the employees of the City of
National City, except those prohibited
by law, be employed on a basis of
forty hours per week effective Jul
1952?" 1,
received the assent of a majority of the qualified electors vot-
ing at said election, and that therefore said measure or proposi-
tion was approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
CITY OP NATIONAL CITY is hereby directed to enter this RESOLUTION
upon the Minutes of the City -Council of said City.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, this
