BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of National
City, California, that the Mayor of the City of National City,
is hereby authorized and directed to execute an amendment to
Lateral Sewer Contract #1 with Charles J. Dorfman, contractor, for
the following work and the following prices:
The proposed sewer planned to cross Block 2 of D. E. Lozier's
Subdivision of the w2 of 10 Acre Lot 10, Quarter Section 154 be
abandoned and the following work substituted; Revise the grade of
the sewer planned on "F" Avenue between 14th and 15th Streets, in-
creasing the depth at 15th and "F" Avenue from 7 feet to 9 feet
and increasing depth at 14th and "F" from 6 feet to 18 feet; construct
240 feet of additional 6 inch sewer from 14th "F" to a point on "F"
50 feet south of 13th Street at depth ranging from 8 to 20 feet and
an additional 325 feet of 6 inch sewer along an easement parallel to
and 50 feet south of 13th Street west to an intersection with the
trunk line sewer in "E" Avenue at depth of 6 to 7 feet; also a 6
inch sewer 115 feet long running east along 14th Street from "E"'
Avenue at depth of 6 feet. The total length of the work added is
680 feet and 2 manholes. The work deleted is 336 feet and 1 manhole.
The net increase in work is 344 feet of 6 inch sewer and 1 manhole.
The average depth of the new work is 91- feet instead of 5i feet and
the maximum depth of the new work is 20 feet instead of 8 feet. The
revised work to be at the regular contract unit price, plus $620.00
for the increase in depth. The total extra involved would be 344 feet
6 inch sewer at $3.65 equalling $1,255.60 plus 1 manhole at-$170.00,
plus $'620.00 equalling $2,045.60.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, this 19th
day of July , 19_49 , by the following vote, to -wit:

A change is proposed in the work for Lateral Sewer Contract
No. 1 as follows:
Since the City did not obtain easements for construction of
the sewer line across Block 2, D. E. Loziers Subdivision of the
west half of 10 Acre Lot 10, Quarter Section 154, it is necessary
to replan the job.
It is proposed that the sewer planned to cross said Block 2 be
abandoned and the following work substituted:
Revise the grade of the sewer planned on "F" Avenue between
14th and 15th Streets, increasing the depth at 15th and "F" from 7
feet to 9 feet and increasing depth at 14th and "F" from 6 feet to
18 feet.
Construct 240 feet of additional 6 inch sewer from 14th and "F"
to a point on "F" 50 feet south of 13th St. at depth ranging from
8 to 20 feet and an additional 325 feet of 6 inch sewer along an
easement parallel to and 50 feet south of 13th St. west to an inter-
section with the trunk line sewer in "E" Ave. at depth of 6 to 7 feet.
Also'a 6 inch sewer 115 feet long running east along 14th St,
from "E" Ave. at depth of 6 feet,
The total length of the work added is 680 feet and 2 manholes.
The work deleted is 336 feet and 1 manhole., The net increase in work
is 344 feet of 6 inch sewer and 1 manhole. .The average depth of the
new work is 9i feet instead of 5i feet and the maximum depth of the
new work is 20 feet instead of 8 feet.
The contractor has been approached and proposes to install the
revised work for his regular contract unit price, plus $620,00 for
the increase in depth. The total extra involved would be 344 feet
6 inch sewer at $3.65 = $1,255.60 plus 1 manhole at $170.00, plus
$620 equals $2,045.60.
The proposed change adds a possible 6 future connections includ-
ing wilhelmina Rest Home,
