RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULT OF A
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of National City, California, finds,
determines, declares and resolved as follows:
SECTION 1. That a Special Municipal Election was held in the said
City of National City, California, on Tuesday the 8th day of November, 1949,
for the submission to the electorate of the following proposition.
"Shall the Charter prepared by the City
Council on its own motion pursuant to
Section 8 of Article X1 of the Constitution
of the State of California, and filed by it
in the office of the City Clerk on September 6,
1949, be adopted as the Charter for the City
of National City?"
SECTION 2. That for the purpose of such Special Municipal-leetion
there was established twenty-six (26) voting precincts, as follows;
Sub. (1). Voting Precinct 1. The Polling place thereof was estab-
lished at 415 Roosevelt Avenue, in the City of National City, California
glib. (2). Voting Precinct 2. The Polling place thereof was estab-
lished at 127 East 4th Street, in the City of ''ational City, California.
Sub. t3). Voting Precinct a. The Polling place thereof' was estab-
lished at 528 D Avenue,iu the City of National City, California.
Sub. (4). Voting Precinct 4. The Polling place thereof was estab-
lished at 440 East 4th Street, In the City of National City, California.
Sub. (5). Voting Precinct 5. The Polling place thereof was estab-
lished at 440 East and Street, in the City of National City, California.
Sub. (6). Voting Precinct 6. The Polling; place thereof was estab-
lished at 407 I Avenue (facng 4th) in the City of National City, California.
Sub. (7). Voting Precinct 7. The Polling place thereof was estab-
lished at 543' Highland Avenue, in t he City of National City, California.
Sub. (8). Voting Prec±nci 8. The Polling place thereof was estab-
lished at Paradise Valley Sanitarium Assembly Hall, in the City of National
City, California.
Sub. (9). Voting Precinct 9. The Polling place thereof
was established at 2703 East 18th Street, in the City of National Ciiy,
California.
Sub. (10). Voting Precinct 10. The Polling place thereof
was established at 1231 Highland Avenue, in the City of National City,
California.
Sub. (11). Voting Precinct 11. The Polling place thereof
was established at 680 G Street, in the City of National City, California.
Sub. (12). Voting Precinct 12. The Polling place thereof
was established at National City Jr. High School Auditorium, 16th and D
Avenue, in the City of National C
ty, California.
Sub. (13). Voting Precinct 13. The Polling place thereof
was established at-236 East 10th Street, in the City of National City,
California.
Sub. (14). Voting Precinct 14. The Polling place thereof
was established at 27 West 13th Street, in the City of National City, Calif-
ornia.
Sub. (15). Voting Precinct 15. The Polling place thereof
was established at Casa De Salud, 1408 Harding Avenue, inthe City of National
City, California.
Sub. (16). Voting Precinct 16. The Polling place thereof
was established at Kimball School, West l8th Street, in the City of National
City, California.
Sub. (17). Voting Precinct 17. The Polling place thereof was
established at 1836 D Avenue, in the CiLy of National City, California.
Sub. (18). Voting Precinct 18. The Polling place thereof was
established at 2140 Highland Avenue, in the City of National City, Califfirnia.
Sub. (19) Voting Precinct 19. The Polling place thereof was
established at the Olivewood Club, corner 24th and F Streets, in the City of
National City, California.
Sub. (20). -Voting Precinct 20. The Polling place thereof was
establishedat 2514 D Avenue, inthe City of National City, California.
Sub. (21). Voting Precinct 21. The Polling place thereof was

established at Sweetwater Union High School, 2900 Highland Avenue,
Room 34, in the City of National City, California.
Sub. (22). Voting Precinct 22. The Polling place thereof
was established at 2615 L Avenue, in the City of National City, California.
Sub. (23). Voting Precinct 23. The Polling place thereof
was established at 1330 East 24th Street in the City of National City,
California.
Sub. (24). Voting Precinct 24. The Polling place thereof
was established at 1928 I Avenue in the City of National City, California.
Sub. (25). Voting Precinct 25. The Polling place thereof was
established at 1636 Grove Street, in the City of National City, California.
Sub. (26). Voting Precinct 26. The Polling place thereof was
established at 1930 Granger Avenue, in the City of National City, California.
SECTION 3. That the polls were kept open between the hours of seven
o'clock A. M., and seven o'clock P. M., of said day of election, that being
the hours fixed by said Council for the opening and closing of said polls
and as the same were specified in the notice of said election.
SECTION 4. That all of the election officers were properly appointed
and the ballots and election supplied were furnished; and that in all respects
said election was held and conducted, the votes cast thereat received, counted,
tallied and canvassed and the returns thereof made and declared, all in the
time, form and manner as required by law.
SECTION 6.
That said Council met at their usual place of meeting on
the 15th day of November, 1949, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M., that
being the first Tuesday after said election, and did canvass the returns of
said election and did, pursuant to and in the manner provided by law, canvass
all absent voter ballots cast at said election.
SECTION 6. That as the result of said election the number of *otos
oast, the proposition voted for, and the number of votes cast for and against
said proposition, are as follows, to -sit:

SECTION 7: That it is hereby declared that at such Special
Municipal electionfor said proposition failed to pass by a majority
of votes, and that the said Charter as stated in said proposition shall
not be adopted as the Charter for the City of National City.
SECTION 8: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to enter upon
the records of the said Council a statement of the result of said
election containing the matters required to be set forth in said state-
ment as provided by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of National City, California, this 15th
