Forqueran to the position of probationary Junior Park Gardener, at a salary of $199.00 per month, effective November 17, 1948. Horace D. Tarr to the position of temporary Junior Park Gardener, at a salary of 180.00 per month, effective November 17, 1948. November 12, 1948 Honorable Mayor and City Council National City, California Gentlemen: By action of the City Council Mr. Claus G. Merrill was appointed to fill the position of a Junior Park Gardener start- ing September 7, 1948 to September 25, 1948. That same month Mr. Merrill was laid off due to his not being able to pass the Civil Service physical examination. Also, at the same council meeting Mr. Clyde Renfro was appointed to serve as a temporary Junior Park Gardener starting September 13, 1948. Mr. Renfro terminated his employment October 21, 1948, stating he was moving from the state. From the recently established Civil Service eligible list I would like to ask the appointment of Mt. Stanley R. Forqueran of 1168 Elm Street, Chula Vista, to the position of probationary Junior Park Gardenerat the salary of $199.00 per month, starting November 17, 194-8. Also, from the list, the appointment of Mr. Horace D. Tarr, 3134 East Sixth Street, National City to the position of tmporary Junior Park Gardener at the salary of $180.00 per month, starting November 17, 1948. Respectfully yours, B. J.
