HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 4654RESOLUTION NO. 4654 RESOLUTION DECL.RING TEE RESULT OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of National City, California, finds, determines, declares and resolved as follows: SECTION 1. That a General Municipal Election was held in the said City of National City, California, on Tuesday the 13th day of April, 1948, for the purpose of electing two (2) Council- men full term, and the submission to the electorate of the fol- lowing propositions: PROPOSITION NO. 1. Shall the Ordinance No. 746 entitled "An ordinance of -the City of National City, California, authorizing a con- tract between City Council of National City, and the Board of Administration, California State Employees' Retirement System, providing for the participation of said public agency in said state em- ployees' retirement system, making it's employees members of said system", be adopted? PROPOSITION NO. 2. Shall each member of the City Council receive as compensation for serving as such member, the sum of $25.00 per month? SECTION 2. That for the purpose of such General Municipal Election there was established nine (9) voting precincts, consist- ing of a consolidation of the regular election precincts established for State and County Elections, as follows: Sub (1). Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" comprising of State G/ 7- and County National City Precincts numbers 1, 2 and 3. Polling place thereof was established at 515 B" Street, in the City of National City. Sub (2). lidated rioting Precinct "B" comprising of State and County National City Cit Precincts numbers 4, 5 and 6. e Tolling place thereof was established at 715 East 2nd Street, The (rear), in the City of National City. li Consodated Voting Precinct "C" comprising of Sub (3). �• 10 and 11. Consolidated Voting Precinct "E" comprising of State (Sub (5) and County National City Precincts numbers 12, 13 and 24. The Poll- ing place thereof was established the Junior high School Auditorium in the City of National City. Sub (6) Consolidated toting Precinct "F" comprising State and County National City Precincts numbers 14, 15 and 16. The Polling place thereof was established at 1930 Granger Avenue, in the City of National City. SECTION 3.. That the polls were kept open between the hours of eight o'clock A. M., and seven o'clock P. t., of said day of election, that being the hours fixed by said Council for the open- ing and closing of said polls and as the same was specified in the notice of said election. SECTION 4. That all of the election officers were properly appointed and the ballots and election supplies were furnished; and that in all respects said election was held and conducted, the votes cast thereat received, counted, tallied and canvassed and the returns thereof made and declared, all in the time, form and manner as re- quired by law. SECTION 5. That said Council met at their usual place of meet- ing on the 20th day of April, 1948, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P. M., that being the first Tuesday after said election, and did canvass the returns of said election and did pursuant to and in the manner pro- vided by law, canvass all absent voter ballots cast at said election. SECTION 6. That as the result of said election the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for and the office to be filled, and the number of votes cast for each person, are as follows:, to-witi C -' Eugene T. SECTION 7. That it is hereby declared that at said General Municipal Election CLINTON D. MATTHEO was duly elected to the office of Councilman as a member of the City Council of the City of National City for the full term of four (4) years. That it is hereby declared that JOHN H. CURRY, was duly elected to the office of Councilman as a member of the City Council of the City of National City for the full term of four (4) years. That Proposition No. 1, entitled "An ordinance of the City of National City, California, authorizing a contract be- tween City Council of iational City, and the Board of Administration, California State Employees' Retirement System, providing for the participation of said.public agency in said state employees' retirement system, making it's employees members of said system", passed, and that Proposition No. 2, as follows, to-git:"Shall each member of the City Council receive as compensation for serving as such member, the sum of r25.O0 per month", did not pass. SECTION 8. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to enter upon the records of the said Council a statement of the result of said election containing the matters required to be set forth in said statement as provided by law. SECTION 9.
