A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR AN
ELECTION TO BE HELD WHEREBY THE
EMPLOYEES S OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL
CITY IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT,
FIRE DEPARTMENT, LIBRARY EMPLOYEES
AND GENERAL EMPLOYEES, SHALL ELECT
AS WHETHER OR NOT THEY SHALL 1T IN-
CLUDED IN TEE CALIFORNIA STATE EM-
PLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Nat c,.a.1 v1ty, California, that an election shall be held
in the City of National City, on the L, day of e s1W
194 , between the hours of 8:00 o'clock A. M., and 4:30
o'clock P. M., of said day, whereby the employees of the
City of National City may vote as to whether or not they
elect to be included in the California State Employees
Retirement System.
The polling place shall be the City Council Chambers,
City Hall, National City.
Polls shall be open between the hours of 8:00 o'clock
A. M., and 4:30 o'clock P. M.
Separate election boxes shall be provided for:
(1) The Police department employees.
(2) The Fire department employees.
(3) Library employees.
(4) General employees.
Each department head shall designate one (1) employee
of said department to act as election officer.
The City Administrative officer shall designate one
(1) employee to represent.the general employees.
Each employee of the City of National City shall be
supplied a ballot upon which to vote at said polling place.
Each employee shall mark his ballot unobserved by anyone else.
The. election board shall be supplied a roster of all
employees of the City of National City entitled to vote,
and shall check the names of all employees voting.
Ballots shall be folded and dropped in the respective
ballot boxes by the voting employee. Each employee shall be
entitled to one (1) vote.
The City Clerk shall cause notice of the time, place
and purpose of said election to be given to the employees
at least six (6) hours prior to the election, by placing a
notice on the Bulletin Boards of the respective departments,
and such other notification as will inform the employees of
the time, place and purpose of said election.
If and when all employees have voted, the polls may be
closed and the ballots counted, as hereinafter set forth.
The ballots shall be counted by the Election Board at
the close of the polls at 4:30 P. 14i. Ballots shall remain
segregated as to departments and shall be counted separately.
After being counted, the ballots shall be placed in envelopes
and the envelopes shall be sealed. The result of the election
as to each department shall be stated on the respective en-
velopes and then the envelopes containing the ballots shall
be delivered to the City Clerk, who shall in turn, deliver
the same, unopened, to the City Council.
The City Council upon receipt of the ballots, shall
canvas the same.
