CLAGGETT COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR CIVIC CENTER SAN DIEGO 12, CALIFORNIA November 14,1947 Mr. Frank Rogers, City Clerk City of National City National City, California RE: Tax Sale No. 5206 Lots 1, 2 & 3, Bik. 22 National City Dear Fienk: B II! OSI BIB. We are enclosing herewith duplicate copies of our work sheets on the above numbered tax sale, as we are informed was the custom of the Appraisal Department. Referring to Tax Sale No. 1941 covering Lot 74, Block 5, Tract 1404, Paradena Park. We sold this property at public auction to Verner E. Hawkins several years ago, and in examining the records we find no protest from National City. Mr. Hawkins was in today and re- ports that he has been told by Dale Smith that the deed is "no good." I assume that in the interval between the sale and this date something has come up in National City that makes this property valuable to National City for some definite purpose, but it would seem to me rather than try to question our deed, when the sale was not protested, it would be better for National City to take proceedings against the property as would be done against any other property. So will you talk this over with Dale and then you, or our friend, Dale, tell me what it is all about? I am still trying to do my best towards hurrying proceedings so we can get some of this National City property up for sale for National City's and San Diego County's mutual benefit. With kindest personal regards. Very truly yours, Enc-3 Sam '. _ ett SAC:MB County Tax .'lector PRINTED IN SAN DIEGO r$— / geoj yJa91, 3a&& -Gig% /-2 3 /-e- 4
