VANSANT CITY TREASURER AND TAX COLLECTOR CITY OF NATIONAL CITY OFFICE OF CITY TREASURER and TAX COLLECTOR NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA November 6, 1946 Honorable Mayor and City Council National City, California Gentlemen: CITY COUNCIL GILBERT E. FRITZ. MAYOR F. J. THATCHER E. J. CHRISTMAN FRANK CORDINGLY RAY NEWBERRY This offer is a bit low; however, the circumstances are a bit unusual. We joined the County in County Tax Sale #3848 some months ago and set a price of $60.00 on this lot. Assessee says that upon receipt of County notice of said sale she inquired of County Tax Collector how much was required to redeem the property; that she paid $42.00 to redeem and was informed that all was clear except for a Bond on which suit had been brought. She further states that she located the bond and paid $75.00 for it. Then she sold the lot and the deal is now in escrow, where she, for the first time, learned that the Deed to the City was not cleared by the above mentioned redemption. Inasmuch as the City would probably not have received as much as p3C.00 out of the Cancelled sale I have accepted this bi.d subject of course to your acceptance. Very truly yours, b . Vansant Tax Collector CWV/md
