r SOLVED, that it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of National City, California, to order the following work to
be done and improvement to be made in said City to -wit: The in-
stallation of a lighting system, together with conduits, cables,
foundations, lighting standards and all other appliances and appur-
tenances necessary for lighting by -electricity on National Avenue
from the northerly line of 5th Street to the southerly line of 1st
Street and on main Street from the westerly line of National Avenue
to the southerly line of Division Street.

constructed in the manner, at the locations, within the limits,
of the materials, and of the dimensions as shown upon and in accord-
ance with the plans, profiles, drawings, typical cross -sections
and specifications therefore contained in document rao.
on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and copies
of which are on file in the office of the City Fngineer of said
City, and by this reference thereto all said plans, profiles,
drawings, typical cross -sections and specifications are made a part
hereof.
The said Council hereby determines and declares that serial
bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of twenty-five
dollars or more remaining unpaid after the full expiration of
thirty days from the date of the warrant, to represent the expenses
of said work and improvement.
Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine
years from the second day of January next succeeding the fifteenth
day of the next uctober following their date, and an even annual
proportion of the principal aum thereof shall be payable by coupon
on the second day of January every year after the fifteenth day
of the next October following their date until the whole is paid.

Said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of six per cent per annum,
interest payable semi-annually by coupon, on all sums unpaid until
the whole of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds shell
be issued and the principal and interest thereof shall be paid under
and in pursuance of the Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments there.

That the contemplated work and improvement bereinbefore mentioned
is in the opinion of said Council of more than local and ordinary
public benefit, and the expenses of such work and improvement are
made chargeable upon the district hereinafter described, and said
Council does hereby declare said district to be the district benefited
by said work and improvement, and to be assessed to pay the costa and
expenses thereof.
Said district is described as follows, to -wit: all of that real
property in the said City of National City included within the ex-
terior boundary lines of said district, as shown upon that certain
plat JNo. f
indicating the exterior boundary lines of such
district, which plat, approved by the council, is on file in the office
of the City Engineers of said. city; excepting therefrom all public
streets, roads, alleys, avenue and highways. :deference is hereby made
to said plat for a particular description of such district.
The Council have ascertained and declared by the adoption of
resolution No./o 3 , adopted on the .:1/—day. of
that the prevailing rate of per diem wages paid by private
the City of National City, for the same quality of service for a day
of eight (8) hours for each craft, labor, type of workman or mechanic
needed to execute said work is as follows:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVE, that on Tuesday, the day of
, 19 446 , at,,:orclock mt, in the CDUncil
er/o± the City Hall of thesaid. City of National City, and any
and. al persons having any objections to the proposed work or im-
provement, 'cc the grade at which said work is to be done, or to the
extent of the district to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
of said proposed work or improvement, may appear before said Council
and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be Carried out
in accordance with this Resolution.
That the Clerk of said City be, and he is hereby directed to
cause this eso=r; of Intention to be published twice in the
2/WiTeeeee, e a daily Newspaper published and circulated
in said'Oi y and hereby deeignated for that purpose by the Council.
That the Clerk of said City be, and is hereby directed to mail
notice of the adoption of this Resolution of Intention, postage prepaid,
to all persons owning real property preposed to be assessed, whose
names andeaddressee appear on the last equilized County Assessment Roll,
at his address as shown upon such roll, and to any person, whether
owner in fee or having a lien upon, or legal or equitable interest
in any land within said proposed district, who has filed his name and
address and the.designation of the land in which he is interested with
the Olerk of said City, all in the time, form and manner required by
law,
The Clerk of said. City, shall upon completion of the mailing of
said notices, file with the City Council an affidavit setting forth
time and manner of the oompliance with the above requirements for
mailing such notices.
That the City Engineer of said. City shall, after the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention, cause to be conspicuously posted
along the line of said contemplated work or improvement, at not more
than three hundred feet in distance apart, but not less than three in
all, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention, and when
the work to be done is only upon an entire crossing or intersection, or
any part thereof, he shall cause such notices to be conspicuously
posted in front of each quarter block or irregular block liable to be
assessed, and when ;-,)34 work is chargeable upon a district, he shall
cause such notices to be conspicuously posted upon all open streets
within euch district at not more than three hundred feet in distance
apart on each street so posted; all in the time, form and manner re-
quired by law; and thereupon said City Engineer shall cause to be
filed in the office of the City Clerk of said City, an affidavit
showing the posting of said notices of improvement.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an
Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as the
"Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto.
