WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission of the
City of National City has recommended in writing to this
Council certain increases of salary for civil service em-
ployees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does not fix the
tax rate nor ascertain the revenue of the City of National
City until the first meeting in September and whereas said
employees should be entitled to said raises from the be-
ginning of the fiscal year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of National City, California, that the
salary increases heretofore recommended by the Civil Service
Commission be adopted as a new salary schedule, excepting
therefrom those employees for whom the Civil Service Commission
has recommended an increase in salary over $20.00 per month
for any one employee, which is hereby disapproved, provided
however that said employee or employees for whom the Civil
Service Commission did recommend an increase in salary over
$20.00 per month shall receive a $20.00 per month salary
increase.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the salary increases
herein set forth shall be effective as of July 1, 1946.
