RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULT.
OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of National City, California, finds,
determines, declares and resolved as follows:
Section 1. That a General Municipal Election was held in the
said City of National City, California, on Tuesday, the 9th day
of April, 1946, for the purpose of electing three (3) Councilmen
full term.
Section 2. That for the purpose of such General Municipal
Election there was established seven (7) voting precincts, consist-
ing of a consolidation of the regular election precincts established
for State and County Elections, as follows:
Sub (1). Consolidated Voting Precinct "A" comprising of State
and County National City Precincts Numbers One (1), Two (2), and
Three (3). The Polling place thereof was established at the
Congregational Church Annex, East 8th Street and A Avenue, in the
City of National City.
Sub (2). Consolidated Voting Precinct "B" comprising of State
and County National City Precincts Numbers Four (4), Five (5) and
Six (6). The polling place thereof was established at Garage, rear
of 715 East 2nd Street, in the City of National City.
Sub (3). Consolidated Voting Precinct "C" comprising of State
and County National City Precincts Numbers Seven (7), Ten (10) and
Eleven (11). The polling place thereof was established at the
Central School -east side of E Avenue between 8th Street and loth
Street.
Sub (4). Consolidated Voting Precinct "D" comprising of State
and County National City Precincts Numbers Twelve (12), Thirteen
(13) and Twenty (21). The Polling place thereof was established at
the auditorium --Junior High School, 16th Street and D Avenue in the
City of National City.

Sub (5). Consolidated Voting Precinct "E" comprising of State
and County National City Precincts Numbers Fourteen (14), Fifteen
(15) and Sixteen (16). The polling place thereof was established
the Kimball School --West 18th Street, in the City of National City.
Sub (6). Consolidated Voting Precinct "F" comprising State
and County National City Precincts Numbers Seventeen (17), Eighteen
And twenty (20).
(18) and Nineteen (19)/ The polling place thereof was established
at the Sweetwater Union High School, 2900 Highland Avenue, in the
City of National City.
Sub (7). Consolidated Voting Precinct "G" Comprising State
and County National City Precincts Numbers Eight (8), Nine (9),
Twenty-one () and Twenty-two (242). The polling place thereof
was established at the Paradise Valley Sanitarium, in the City of
National City,
Section 3. That the polls were kept open between the hours of
eight o'clock A. M. and seven o'clock P. M. of said day of election
that being the hours fixed by said Council for the opening and
closing of said polls and as the same was specified in the notice
of said election.
Section 4. That all of the election officers were properly
appointed and the ballots and election supplies were furnished; and
that in all respects said election was held and conducted, the vote
cast thereat received., counted, tallied and canvassed and the
returns thereof made and declared, all in the time, form and manner
as required by law.
Section 5. That said Council met at their usual place of meet
ing on this 16th day of April, 1946, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P..
that being the first Tuesday after said election, and did canvass
the returns of said election and did pursuant to and in the manner
provided by law, canvass all absent voter ballots cast at said
election.
Section 6. That as the result of said election the number of

votes cast, the names of the persons voted for and the office to be
filled, and the number of votes cast for each person, are as follow
to -wit:
That the whole number of votes cast in said City of National
City was 1492
•
That the whole number of absentee votes cast in the said City
of National City was 4.
Section 7. That it is hereby declared that at said General
Municipal Election GILBERT E. FRITZ was duly elected to the office
of Councilman as a member of the City Council of the City of
National City for the full term of four (4) years.
That it is hereby declared that at said General Municipal
Election FREDERICK J. THATCHER was duly elected to the office of
Councilman as a member of the City Council of the City of National
City for the full term of four (4) years.
That it is hereby declared that at said General Municipal
Election RICHARD E. ADAMS was duly elected to the office of
Councilman as a member of the City Council of the City of National
City for the full term of four (4) years.
Section 8. That the Clerk is hereby directed to enter upon th
records of the said Council a statement of the result of said
election containing the matters required to be set forth in said
statement as provided by law.
Section 9. That said Clerk is hereby directed to immediately
make out and deliver to each of the persons herein declared elected
a certificate of election in the manner and form required by law.
