ders or directions of any foreign government or of any official thereof.

That I did not take an oath during the war between the allied powers and German Austria in 1914-1918,
inclusive, in connection with services in the military forces of any sovereignty allied with the United States in that
war. The taking of such an oath is an exception and does not disqualify the person from holding any office or
employment by reason thereof.
I hereby swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and the
Constitution of the State of California.
