Ogden was elected Cty TTeasurer of the City of National City, California, at the General Election held therein on the 12th day of April, 1920, for a term of four years at a salary of Twenty-five Dol1ar8 per month; and WHEREAS, since said election, the work of said office has been gretiy increased by the isuance of bonde by said City, to -snit: The isuanoe of y 18O,OOO..00 3treet ImpxpvEment Bonds authorized by the pecia1 Election held on July 7,1920, and the issuance of 856 Street Improsrzment Bonds an part py 4 :meet for the oontruction off. Sanitary Sewer 2yrbern in Sanitary Sewer ]Ji9trict No. 1, which Sanitary Sewer System was con truoteunder she Act of the Legislature of the 8tte of California, commonly known ae the kTrooman Act; ,and 1jVHEREAS, said City Trea3urer way required to Put inbon 4 fl1rh1e extra time at the City Hall between June 1, 1921 and April 1, 1922, in order to take carp of the ending out of notices and the collection of the interet coupons and principal payment coupon on said Sewer Bond; and WHEREAS, the said City Treaurer, as soon as she ascertained the extent of said work, notified the Board of TruBtees that she could ot do the same for the salary of Twenty -dive dollars per month and would consider resigning unleBe she be allowed extra compenation for said work; and VHEEAS, the Board of Trutee was unable to ecure any one else, who was capable of properly attending to aid work, to do the same as cheaply asaid City Treasurer offered to do same, to*it: for the guns of Forty cents pe hour; and WHEREAS, the Board promised said City Treasurer to make her a reasonable compensation in some way for said extra work which was not anticipated at the timethan she was elected., provided she would doeame and WHEREAS,. the City Attorney of said City has informed the Board that there is no way in which said extra com pensation can be paid to Gadd City Treasurer in a atrictly and technically legal manner; and WHEREAS, said City Treasurer has performed said work in a eatisfactory manner; and WHEREAS, it eeeme for the beat interest of said City and aid City TreauTer and all concerned, that a reasonable I compensation should be paid said City 'Treasurer for said extra work a a matter of justice and fairnes to her; and WHEREAS, said City Treaurer has heretofore filed her claim therefor with theClerk of this Board showing that she has put in an said extra work 433 hour, and has in said. claim asked that she be ;paid for said work forty cents per hour for 433 hours, or the total sum of i73.2O; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of this Board said claim is aboiute1y jut and fair and ought in equity and good con- science to be paid by said City,- NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this Board that said claim of said L. K. Ogden for the sum of $173.20 b.e and the same is hereby allowed, and the proper offioer of said City are ereby instructed and directed to issue a warrant there- for in favor of the said' L. K. Ogden,. out of the General Fund. of said City.. 2.
