Deputy. •• i/k-icezi 42. <7/ �esot u.Cg,or 596 WHEREAS, the Order made January 29, 1914, -by the Railroad Commission of the State of California, in case No. 472 in the matter in controversy between The Frank Turnbull Company against the Sweetwater Water Company, apparently af- fects all the consumers of water under the Sweetwater Water System and commits said Water Company to a policy of serv- ing water by auxiliary means, such as reservoirs, to land above an altitude which can be adequately served by gravity as all other consumers undersaid system are at present serv- ed; and, WHEPEAS,it is the opinion of all those best inform- ed of the facts, whether experts or otherwise, that there is n ot sufficient water under the control of said Water System to adequately supply all the lands and the present and future in- habitants thereon at and below an altitude that can be served by gravity, and that such lands at such lower altitude are being rapidly settled and have no other possible supply and are u nder said system and within the territory designated for the u se of said water and solely dependent thereon for the same; and, WHEREAS, the extraordinary cost for installing such auxiliaries to supply water to such higher elevations, although first borne by the Water Company, must eventually be impaled upon the consumers generally under said system, and therefore the City of National City and its inhabitants are directly and ✓ itally interested in the questions at issue in said case and have so far had no opportunity of being heard in said contro- ve r sy ; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sweetwater Water Company is hereby earnestly urged and requested to take the pro- per steps to petition the Railroad Commission fora re -hearing o f said case, and that the City attorney of Nt.i.onlCi.t be instructed and empowered to act in conjunction with the attorneys o f the Sweetwater Water Company in bringing the said re -hearing about, as far a, possible.
