7 BESOLVED: That it is the intention of the Board
8 of Trustees of the City of National Cit.y, a rnunicipal cor-
9 poration in the County of an Diego, State of California,
10 to order the foliowing street work and improvement to be

Ordinance No. 342 of the Ordinan.ces of the City of National
City, California, entitled, "An Ordinance providing specifica-
t: one for grading and surfacing with decomposed granite,rtnder
the sarne contract of streets in the City of' Nati onal City,

California;
Provided, however, that there shall beexcepted from
the work hereiribefore mentioned, the grading but not thesur
facing of all portions of said forty foot strip and said thirty
foot strip, respectively, between the ;points aforesaid hereto
fore graded to the official grade thereof, or by this Board
of Trustees ordered to be so graded. Also, that as a. part
of said work and irnprovement, there be constructed in said
National Avenue between said southerly line of Thirteenth
Street in said City and said southerly City Limits of said
City, the following bridges culverts and structures, to -wit:
One culvert, consisting of three parailel corrugated ingot
iron pipes of four feet inside diarrter each and forty feet
each in length, extending under the embankment of said
1ationa1 Avenue fin at right aneles to said 1ationa1 Avenue at
te; paint between Sev.enteenth and Eighteenth Streets in said
City, to-wt: the cen&ter of said culvert beins 100 feet
northerly from the northerly line of 'said Eighteenth Street,
together with concrete head walls and abutments for the same;
• Any 12 inth round corrugated inot iron culvert with
its accessories inluding wing walls, abttrnents and one conow
crete catch basin) in the easterly gutter line of said. Fational
Zvenue across the intersection of the same with Eighteenth
Street in said City.

in said City across its intersection with said National Avenue.
One 15 inch round corrugated ingot iron culvert with
its accessories including wing walls abutments and one concrete
catch basin, in the southerly butter line of said Twenty Fourth
*Street, across its intersection with said National Avenue.
One reinforced concrete bridge 100 feet long, the
northerly end of which shall be 2000 feet southerly from the cent-
er line of said Thirty-second Street in said City, said bridge to
be of a width of twenty-five feet and=. -the center line of the same
to conform with the center line of said National Avenue,
Also, that as a part of said. work, the oontractor or
contractors to whom the contract for doing the sme shall be a-
warded, shall take and remove from the street to be graded, all
surplus dirt and material that may result from doing said work,
and shall also supply all deficiencies in dirt that may be re-
quired to bring said work to the official grade of said street,
and. shalt also remove the present wooden highway bridge in said
National Avenue, 300 feet or thereabouts long, which bridge now
crosses the bed of the Sweetwater river inlaid City, and shall
fi]..1 and grade to the level necessary to receive the said surfac-
ing and shall properly surface in accordance with said speoifi
cation ordinance and the specifications therein contained, the
approacheS to said new reinforced concrete bridge, so as to con-
nect said new concrete bridge with th.e present embankment of said
street at the northerly and southerly ends of said bridge; said
approaches necessary to be filled to the north of said concrete
bridge., being 100 feet or thereabouts long, and said approaches
necessary to be filled to the south of said concrete bridge, be
ing also 100 feet or thereabouts long; all to the end that when
said approaches shall .have been so graded and surfaced, they shal
conform to the said official grade of said street, and be of the
width of thirty feet on top, 'to -wit: Fifteen feet on each side
of the censer line of said street.

That all of said grading, surfacing, filling, culverts,
aoCessorie8 and said bridge and structures, shall conform to the
plans, drawings, typical crossseotioris and particular specifi-
cations therefor, contained in Document °$ 12 N" filed in the Of..

fits of the City Engineer of said City, which plans drawings,
typical cross -sections and particular specifications, are hereby

approved as the plans, drawings, typical cross -sections and part.
icular specifications for said, work, in addition to the specifi-
cations contained in said Ordlnarice nunibered 342. Andsaid plans,
drawings, typical cross -sections and particular specifications,
together with the specifications in said Ordinance numbered 342
contained, are hereby by reference to said Docwrnt "B 12 N" and
to said Ordiname 342, incorporated herein as a part of this
Resolution. All said work shah. be done under the direction and
to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of Streets of said City.
And said Board of Trustees does hereby declare that
in its opinion the said contemplated work and irnprcvernent is
of more than local or ordinary public benefit and that the ex-
pense of the same shall be chargeable upon a district, which
district is hereby declared to be the district benefited by said

work and rnprovrient and to be assessed to pay th& costs and
expenses thereof.

of beginning, excepting, however, therefrom al]. public streets,
squares, lanes, alleys, courts, parks, or places wi th i n said
boundaries of said district.
That the National City iews, a newapaper printed and
published weekly in said City of National City, Califorriia, is
hereby designated as the newspap•er in which this resolution of
intention shall be published twice in the manner required by
law.
That the Cites Clerk of the pity of National City,
California, be, and he is hereby directed to cause this
Resolution to be published twice in said newspaper designated
as aforesaid for that purpose.
