Resolved bhat it is the intent ion of the Board of
Trustees of the city of National r!ity, a municipal corporation,
in the county of San Diego, State of California, to order the fo ]
lowing street work to be done in said Cjt3r, to-wt:
That G Avenue in said city on both sides thereof from
the southerly line of Fourth street in said 01ty to the northerly
line of Eighth Street in said city, iniluding all intersections
of said. G Avenue with other streets betweer said points, excepting
all portions of said G Avenue and the said intersections of streets
between said points already sidewaiked and curbed with cement
sidewalks and. curbs or by this Board of Trustees ordered to be so
siciewalked and nurbed, be sidwa1ked and curbed with cement side'
walks and curbs, all in accordance rvith the orficial gracle thereof
and according to the speclfications contained in ordinance No. 341 a
the ordinances of said ity entitled "An ordinance to provide $peci-
ficat jon for the onstrw,t lon of cement s idewallcs and curbs in the
city of National pity, California, ° passed and adapted on the 6
day of December, 1910.
That allsaid work haJ.1 be done under the diretion and
to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of Streets of said
C, ity. .
That the Nat ional rqty News, a weekly newspaper printed,
published, circulated and of general ir lat ion in said city
of National f!itST, be arid. it is hereby desighated as the news-
paper in which this Resolution of Zritentiori shall be published
by two successive insertions, and the notice of the passage

That the city clerk of the said city of National City be
and he is hereby directed to post this resolution of intention
conspicuously for two day5 on or near the chamber door of this
Board of Trustees, and to cause the same to be published by two
insertions in said weekly newspaper in the manner required by law;
That the street superintendent of said pity of National
City shall thereupon cause to be conspicuously posted along the
line of said contemplated work, above described, notices of the
passage of this reo1ution, in the manner and form required. by
w
law, and shall also pause a notice similar in substance to be
published once in said weekly newspaper in the manner required
by law.

Whereas, on the 1 6th day of March, 1909, the

Whereas, it h as been made to appear by coupe -
tent evidence to the satisfaction of said Board of
Trustees that E. F. Requa, as Superintendent of
Streets of said City. on the 2d day of April, 1909,
caused to be conspicuously posted along the line
of the work and improvement contemplated by
- pit alon the Northerly and
said resolution, �
Southerly lines of that portion of said Twenty-
third street between the Easterly boundary line
of "IP avenue and the westerly boundary line
of "" avenue, printed notices of the passage of
said resolution; that said notices were posted less
than three hundred feet in distance apart, and
that at least three of said notices were posted by
said Superintendent of titreets on each side of
said portion of Twenty-third street; and that each
of said notices was beaded "Notice of Public
Work" in letters one inch in length, and in legi-
ble characters stated the fact of the passage of
said resolution, its date, and briefly the work and
improvement•pro posed as herein be fo re recited, and
referred to said resolution for further particulars;
and that said Superintendent of Streets also
caused a notice similar in substance to the one
above described to be 1Published by four suc-
cessivethereof, to -wit: by an insertion
t.h re of n the 8rd, 10th, 17th and 24th days of
April, 1909, in the Nationa I City News, a weekly
newspapergeneral of circulation, printed, pub-
lished and circulated in said
city, and the one
designated b said Board in the aforesaid resolu-
tion for the publication of said notice; that said
notice published in said newspaper as aforesaid
vas set in type not smaller than nonpareil, and
was preceded with words printed in blackface
type not- smaller than nonpareil, describing and
• expressing in ,general terms the purport and
chrra ter of said notice; and that said newspaper
hadeestablished and printed, ttbllshe and

circulated in said city at reular intervals of
once a week for more than one year preceding
! the date of the first publication of said notice
therein as a oresai ; and that during said period
of rnr re than one year said newspaper had been i

telligence of a general character; and that said I
newspaper had, during said period of more than
!, one year, a bona fide subscription list of paying
subscribers; and
Whereas, the time prescribed by law within
which objections to said work and improvement
and to the closing up of said portion of said
Twenty third streeL 1.11 ight be made has expired,
and no objections tb ret v-hav been made,; and
Whereas, in the judgment of said Board of

Trustees the public nterest and convenience re-
quire the closing up of all that ortou of said
`t'w at =+third street in said city hereinafter par-
ticularly described; and Whereas, in thejudg-
ment of said Board it is not necessary that any
land be taken in closing up said portion of said
Twenty-third street; and it appearing that no
assessment is necessary therefor;
Therefore the Board of Trustees of the City of
National City do ordain as follows:
That the following described portion of Twenty-
third street within the corporate' limits of said
city be, and the same is hereby closed up andva-
cated, to -wit
All that portion of said Twen -third street in-
cluded between the Easterly boundary line of
*Li" avenue and the Westerly line of "1) avenue.
'And it is further ordered that the City Clerk of
said city without delay cause this Ordinance to
be published by one insertion thereof in said Na-
tional City News.
Passed and adopted bythe Board of Trustees
of the Cityof National City, this 1st day of .tune,

News, a weekly newspaper of general circulation,printcda

than two years last past said newspaper has been estab]
lished, and printed, published and circulated in said
city at regular intervals of oncse a week for the dis
semination of local and. telegraphic news and intelli- I

has had a bona fide subscription list of paying sub-

taken from said. newspaper is pasted on the margin of :91
this affidavit, was at the request of Geo W Grant, the
City Clerk of said City, printed and published, in the
form and type shown on said printed copy, in said news-
paper by one insertion therein on the 5th day of June
1909; and that said publication was made in the news-
paper proper and not in a supplement thereof.
