WHEREAS, on the 2na dey of June 1908, a petition was pre
•sented to this Board sivied by the qualified electors of the city
of National Qityin number 'equal one half of the. tottil ,yoter.oast,
in the city of National City, at the last preceeding general election,
petitioning that the question of the adoption of the provisions of
Chapter XIV, of Title II of Part III of the Political Code of the
State of California, be submitted to the electbis of saidcity, and
demanaing that said question be so submitted at a special election
to be onlled for that purpose and provided by Section 1372 of saia
Political Code; and,
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of June 1908, at a regular meeting
of thin Board a resolution was passed end adopted by the aifirmativ#
vote of all the members of this Board, calling a special election in
ancl tor, the •_c_ity of. Nati_ one - IJR1iforniarzonr-Tuesday, 23ril
1908, a certified copy of which said Resolution was under the direction
of this Board, publisheid in the National City News, a weekly newspaper
of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said 'city
of National City in the issues of :said weekly newspaper of. June 6,1900,
June 1,1908 and June 20,1908, as appears by the affidavit of the owner,
printer and publisher of said weekly newspaper MADW on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City p and certified copies oflwhich said Reso.
