HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 2011-109RESOLUTION NO. 2011 — 109 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF 20 FEET OF RED CURB "NO PARKING" ON PLAZA BOULEVARD ADJACENT TO CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO SERVE AS A SCHOOL BUS STAGING AREA WHEREAS, the National School District will be providing two buses to Central Elementary School for student drop-off/pick-up; and WHEREAS, the Director of Maintenance and Operations for the District has requested additional red curb "No Parking" to accommodate the two buses; and WHEREAS, staff inspected the site and determined that adequate existing red curb on E Avenue, adjacent to the school, will accommodate one bus, but to accommodate a second bus, staff recommends adding an additional 20 feet of additional red curb "No Parking" on Plaza Boulevard, adjacent to the school to serve as a school bus staging area; and WHEREAS, at it's meeting on May 11, 2011, the Traffic Safety Committee approved staff's recommendation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of National City hereby authorizes the installation of 20 feet of red curb "No Parking" on Plaza Boulevard, adjacent to Central Elementary School to serve as a school bus staging area.
