HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RESO 2022-170 A Reason to Survive ARTS Agreement Design Creation and Installation of Public Art ProjectsRESOLUTION I NO. 2022- 170 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY ("CITY") AND A REASON TO SURVIVE ("ARTS") FOR THE DESIGN, CREATION AND INSTALLATION OF PUBLIC ART PROJECTS IN NATIONAL CITY WHEREAS, one of the goals of the CITY'CITY's General Plan is to develop a cultural arts program that that encourages and facilitates the development of art in public spaces and promotes greater awareness of architectural, urban design, and the cultural heritage of the CITY; and WHEREAS, EAS, ARTS is a California non-profit corportation skilled in creating public art, including capital arts projects; and WHEREAS, the CITY desires to have ARTS design, create and install a number of public art projects in conjunction with larger a ital improvement projects in National City; and WHEREAS, EAS, the CITY has received funding for public art projects to be installed as part of local capital improvement projects; and WHEREAS, the CITY previously entered into a maintenance agreement with ARTS which commenced on January I , 2022 and expires on December 31, 2022. NOW, THEREFORE, E, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: section 1: Authorizes the City Manager to enter into an Agreement between the City of National City and ARTS for the design, creation and installation of funded public art projects as part of local capital improvement projects, attached to the Agenda Report as Exhibit 1. • Resolution No. 2022 — 170 Page Two Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
