Financial StatementMr. Thach and Earl Mohler have deposited 10% ($ 60.00) of
the purchase price. The City will Nay for the Policy of Title Insurance
and one-half of the Escrow cost.

1. Adopt a Resolution authorizing the Mr to sign the Quit Claim deed.
2. Direct the City Clerk to submit the eed to the Engineering Department
for recordation through the Escrow Company
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION
The City Planning Commision per Resolution No. 4-90 on March 5, 1990
required the owners of Parcel 2, Map No. 15398, to acquire the
adjacent City -Owned surplus properties prior to the approval of the

RE: THE SALE OF TWO CITY -OWNED SURPLUS PROPERTIES ON THE NORTH SIDE OF
14TH STREET WEST OF EUCLID AVENUE
One of the conditions set by the Planning Commision for the approval of the
tentative parcel map was for the property owners to acquire the City -Owned
surplus properties on the South side of the parcel in order to meet the
minimum lot size requirements (Resolution No. 4-90).'
These two parcels are the remainants of property which was acquired by the
City for the construction of Euclid Avenue from Plaza Boulevard to 16th
Street. Due to the irregular shapes, substandard sizes, and sloped
terrain, these two parcels have no value to anyone but the adjacent
property owners. The sale of these two parcels will also relieve the City
from maintaining the Landscaping.
Following the City Council's direction established on December 12, 1986,
we have negotiated with the adjacent propoarty owners, Mr. Jack Thach and
Earl Mohler, and have agreed on a price of $3,600.00 for the properties.
This cost was based on a $4.00 per square foot for the land.

Mohler, and have agreed on a price of $3,600.00 for the
properties, based on a value of $4.00 per square foot of land.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of National City that the Mayor is authorized to
execute a Quitclaim Deed quitclaiming two city -owned surplus
properties on the northside of 14th Street west of Euclid
Avenue to Jack Thach and Earl Mohler. A legal description and
plot of the properties to be quitclaimed are attached hereto
collectively as Exhibit "A."
